So what happens if while that's going on, a person on the other side starts to drown? In the world of edh, everyone will stand and watch and we'll all live happilly ever after (except the drowning person - he'll die happilly ever after. Of course you only die once, so he'll just die happilly.)

Yeah..when I grow up, I want to work at an amusement park.

How about this? If you're drowning, and all of the lifeguards are having a pissing contest in the bathroom, and I'm the only person within a mile, you're saying that I shouldn't do anything because I don't have gloves?

Next person to use a D.K. reference gets a one week ban. The posts in question were deleted, but you know who you are.

I really hate it when parents try to get their kids on rides that they are too small for because, in my experience, a lot of the kids don't really care if they get on or not and would rather just get out than listen to their parents ramble on and on about how they will be safe. It's really bad when people say that the entrance sign does not tell the height requirement when you know they know that it does.

OMG^ I agree with you so much. We just recently changed the height requirement on J2 from 48" to 50" in the first 3 cars and to 54" in the last car. So when people come up they complain the height requirement down at the entrance is different than up in the station. (Even though it's not because my manager adjusted it.) Most of the time the kids are just like, OK and they go stand behind the exit gate. But the parents, my god... They just start cursin and screamin and it's really annoying. And then my favorite, while the op is telling people to secure loose articles, he makes it very clear that you must be 54" to ride in the back car. Do people listen? Of course not. Because I height check their kid and they want to complain that they meet 50" (even though the op just explained the back)

Here's a new question, do the guests in your line actually pay attention to the rules you say???

They pay attention for the 1st two minutes, then they go back to what they were doing.

Ok, when I am at the park, as a guest, if I see something wrong, I just tell someone, because I really have no right to yell at another guest.

If it is like smoking in a line or in a childrens area, I ask hem to put them out since they can't. If they want to start something, I will just call security with my cell phone.

Why? It's part of the history of TN. It's not like they did anything bad; they didn't release a virus or hack the site, they simply wanted to make TN more fun. Which they did.

Next thing you know, saying the word "Kraken" will get you a permanent ban. Guys (mods, Steven, etc.), it's part of the history of TN, please don't erase our history (you should celebrate it).

Anyway, back on topic, I do enforce the rules, especially when someone smokes inside a store that I'm working in. Or if I'm walking around the park and I see someone cut in line or smoke in line, I'll ask them to stop.

Hmmmm........ When my shirt comes off that means I'm off duty. I will not enforce any rules or regulations I dont think thats professional. When I'm on duty (paid) then I will enforce the rules etc.

Now you see, you messed up when you called her big. You should have said that you cannot let her on because it is not safe for someone taller than (whatever the height limit is) to go on. That usually works. That almost always works when a parent trys to argue with me to get their kid on.

My biggest problem is trying to enforce the rules with someone that doesn't speak English. One of our rides is a simulator, and the requirements are 36"-42" in a non-motion seat with an adult, or 42" to ride in a motion seat. Try explaining that to someone that doesn't speak English! If the child is too short to ride, they just say "yes" and walk on. My reply is "no" and point back to the direction they came from. They get the point then.

I get a kick out of the Japanese Tourists. The one time this guy and his kids did not have shoes on. So I tell them they need to get shoes, and they smile and nod yes, and they keep walking. And I keep telling them that they need shoes. I had to run up to them and try to explain that they needed shoes. It was pretty funny.

It was very hard enforcing some rules last weekend at carowinds for latino fest. I had to try and explain that their kids were too short but they didn't speak english so i basicall just pointed at the tape on the stick and shook my head no. Most of them got it but a few still didn't understand.

Well all I have to say is I had this guy jump in my face Saturday. Reason why I was Entrance operator my responsiblity is to watch the line for Line jumpers, watch out for smokers, ban children etc.. you know so I had my height stick with me and this guy jumped line in front of me and all the people that waited in line. So I sprung into action he had stop and he meeted his party in the line. I came up to them and said Sir You have to go back in line he said"WHAT?" I repeated my self then he said" I WENT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM" I said I understand that. But you did not inform me that you were going to the bathroom or anything. Far as I know your cutting line. Then his family all yelling at me blah blah. I said sir either you get out of line or I call security. He said man: F THIS PARK, YOU "PRESS" over EVERY DA** THING" and while he saying all of that he is walking out of line. I have to admit I was scared but I think every one in line was satisfied.

I have had people like that. I even had a guy threaten me cause i would not let his kid ride. He kept cussing and yelling at me so i said if you don't watch the language i'll ask you to leave the park. His responce was i'll leave but i want you to meet me in the parking lot.

The funny thing is this same guy was there the night before and i basically told him that his kid had not grown in a day.
