Question Closing Procedures

Don't ask me why I want to know, but what's everyone's closing procedure for closing rides at the end of the night? I mean, I'm sure most things are the same, but what are some of your specific duties.

Over at Clementon Park, on our flats we have to make sure our ride area is clean before we leave and we have to lock down our rides, no restraints or seatbelts can remain open or unlocked. And we have to turn off any lights and turn off the pumps (on rides that have the switch on the panel)
On our coaster, we have ensure all entrances and exits to the ride are clear and closed off. We have to ensure all lapbars and seatbelts are locked (seatbelts through the lapbar), and the coaster is E-Stopped and the train is left in the station. I thought that was the weird part, for some reason I thought coasters had an off button.

What's everyone else have to do, specifically on coasters.

At talon, sometimes we ride it. After that we shut the ride down, clean, and while cleaning look for lost articles.

wow yall actually look for lost articles. We are not allowed to at KW. The mechanics do that or the supervisors. Usually if someone lost something that was very important to them and they make a big fuss about it like they will die without it, our supervisors will look for in right then and there. But ususally we tell people to go to the service center and fill out a report and maybe they will get their item back. But regards to closing at the racer and jack rabbit, we buckle all seat bealts and put all the bars down then clamp the trains. Then we gotta go under the tracks and do all the shutting down of the main power and all that fun stuff, then turn the lights and stuff out. Thats it.

Interesting. We're not allowed to look for lost articles either. If you lost something on the coaster, oh well. You WILL NOT get it back that day, we make that very clear. It's actually apart of our verbals. Usually when people tell me they lost something, I tell them to look in the area under the coaster, which is by the exit of the park. I tell them if it's somewhere on the track, one of the maintenance guys will pick it up...maybe. But as for going under the track and shutting down stuff....we don't get to do that The op just pushes the e-stop button and takes his key out..i think..I was only halfway paying attention...

We clean the station, clean the queue line, clean the trains and we go on Hat Runs (Look for Lost Articles) we have to sign a lockout sheet saying we have entered the restricted ride area also we have a clamp that goes over the Control Power Disable Mechanism (Where You Put the Key in to Start The Ride) That way nobody would be able to start the ride if you are down in the restricted area.

For our park to look for lost articles, their has to be a lockout on the ride. (power off) so the ride can't be run with people in the danger zone.

we don't have to lock out or shut down anything when the sups go under and look for stuff. We know they are under there so we don't send the trains out. And in the morning sometimes we gotta go under the track and pick up trash and stuff like that. The lift hill is never on so we don't have to worry about a train.

Well in the morning, we have to make sure the station and queue are trash-free, and we have to ensure the track (from what we can see) is clear. And our lift isn't on because it takes two people to start it.

we don't even know how to start up our lift hill in the morning. Our mechanics do that for us after they do their daily inspections.

At Montu the Ops have the majority of the control of the ride at all times...If we need to lost article during park hours we Lockout for Safety. If we do a seatbelt check then we must lock out and turn off our magnetic gates. The lock out goes on the Ride Stop button to keep some one from starting our ride up when were in a ride restricted area. We never hit E-Stop...We go by the "Life or Death Rule" which means if it's a life or death situation we can hit it but we must have a mechanics start the ride back up. We can start it up from anything but an E-Stop. Aside from that at night we lock it out with a maintenance lock and empty the trains and lock harness and seatbelts. We do a trash run and then leave. We clean our queue in the morning. Air blow, Wash, Dry/Polish...

At SheiKra we clean in the morning because we don't tend to leave until late because Sheik gets busy right before closing because guests take advantage of the "If You Wait In Line: You Get To Ride" deal...Which means as long as your in our queue before park closes you will ride before you leave...

I may not have made that clear, we can't E-Stop unless it's important, but that usually never happens nor does it do any good because J2 only has a few blocks (no midcourse brakes either) Station--Lift--BR--Transfer ... that's it. So our E-Stop seems pointless. And if we do E-Stop except at night only rides manager can reset it.

Did I mention, if our manager comes up we get to ride the coaster after we close All of the attendants and the op hop in and our manger bypasses the attendant dispatch and we ride once or twice. Anyone else do that??

Our manager bypasses the dual dispatch. But that's the ONLY time, and I mean ONLY time the dual dispatch is bypassed. If we E-Stop, we have to have the manager up there to reset, even if he leaves the key with us (usually never happens)
