B&M Invert Operators

Its me again a just want to know how many B&M Invert Operators are part of ThrillNetwork. I want to see how different parks operate there B&M Inverts from others.

Here is Paramount Carowinds (Top Gun The Jet Coaster) Ride Operations

We can run with 3 people but better with 4 we have 7 different positions.

Four Ride Ops check the seats since there is 8 rows each ride op check 8 seats on each side the Queue Side and the Exit Side.

If you have any other questions just ask. I want to note that this is for B&M Invert Operators only.

I still say your crazy to say we can operate with 3. That would mean front load would have to of course do Front load, back load & group all while watching the lift. Thats insane.

I say TG can operate with a minimun of 4. Just let me know what day (if any) you have 2 people scheduled so i don't come in. J/K

Of all the coasters i have operated i would have to say a B&M invert is by far the most intresting & fun.

The minimum we are allowed to operate with is 7. One in the booth, 4 on the platform (each works a corner 1/4 of the train 8 seats), one at upper height check, and one at lower. That is bare minimum, and we usually have more.

We have 2 optional positions, (someone in the queue line if we are crowded, and someone moving the door) They take over the main positions when people go on break.

What about former/cross trained employees?

In that case, Montu!! woot woot.

4 needed to operate (2 on platform, 1 Control Panel Operator, and 1 Height Stick Attendant)

I like the way Talon is run. Some intresting optional positions that even we don't have. Maybe we could use those, maybe not.

I was watching Dueling Dragons the other day while in line. I don't know what every person does, but 3-4 people are in each loading station, 1 (sometimes 2) are working each unload, and 1-2 are at the operator desk. 1-3 people work out in front of the ride doing height check and other stuff.

Now that I'm a park manager at a different park, I miss the good ole days there.

Got a question for all you B&M invert rideops...

Why is it that the seatbelts are so short on their coasters? Is there a safety issue with having a longer seatbelt?

The reason I ask is that (and Carowinds 73-03 can confirm this because he locked me in Saturday ) I'm not huge, but I am overweight and the only coasters I have a hard time getting the seatbelt to lock is B&M Inverts.

The restraint is locked at least 2 clicks, but the seatbelt is a struggle to get on. It doesn't make sense, is there a reason the seatbelts are so short? It's the same on Batman, not sure about Raptor (I was thinner then)

The reason is because it is as far as the shoulder harness can safely be locked at. I dont know about the other inverts, but we have several larger seats with 2 seat belt buckles that fit bigger people in them most of the time.

^^ Top Gun has those too.

It's a bummer that the "fat seats" are in the middle of the train instead of front or back having one or two.

p.s. I hope to ride Talon in about the next two years. I've heard so many comparisons to Top Gun at PC, I want to compare the two and see if I like Talon more. It looks great from all the pics I've seen.

They are in the middle of the train because that's where you experience lesser amounts of forces. Large framed individuals need to sit there since that's where they will exert the least amount of force AGAINST their harness. The reason why you don't want to exert force against your harness is obvious.

Hope this helps.

Something else to consider. Montu has had a newer train for a while and I can say that the seats are just a bit bigger than the older trains. I have noticed on some of the newer inverts that the seats seem a bit larger not much but still noticeable. I have also noticed B&M have modified the structure of the restraint in small ways. My body size fits a B&M seat perfectly so I notice differences on all the B&M products. On a side note, Sheikra though not an invert seems to have the largest seats as they are HYPER seats with OTSR very large and comfortable..

That pretty much sums it all up Wes. The seatbelts are that short cause thats how far they can go to safely lock the harness.

I would comment on the difference between Talon & Top Gun but i would be saying bad things about my ride so i'll just keep quite.

^^ How could you ever say a bad thing about a B&M (except for Mantis which beats me silly) lol But I think that's CP's fault, not B&M.

Thanks for the info. That does shed some light on things.

I wasn't even thinking either that if you have a heavier person you would want them in middle also to balance out the train a bit. I'm not sure if it would matter, but seems like in the middle would be better for balancing out the train, maybe not though.
