Both of you work the entrance of a coaster for a while and I will guarantee you that you will get irritated after a period of time (especially when you get brainless people pointing to Gemini and asking if it's Magnum... | I can understand being upset over major rides and coasters being mistaken but to me, so many water rides are generic. So I don't see a big deal about it, but that's just me. I get that type of stuff at my job too but that's people for ya. And besides, my post was more aimed at making a funny. I failed, I guess.

| | | Some of these misspells are pretty funny I like "Kingdom Come" and King Kong for Kingda Ka. One I hear accidentally on purpose is Son of a B**ch for Son of Beast at PKI. I would have to admit myself to saying a few goofs on Geauga's rides. I was behind the times on the change over stuff.

| | | Yeah when I realized son of beast's abbreviation was SOB, I thought it was the most perfect abreviation ever for a coaster. lol

| | | At Hersheypark people always call Tidal Force the Tidal Wave. They also call Storm Runner, Storm Chaser; Great Bear, Big Bear; Pony Parade, Pony Express. That's all that I know, I've worked in Midway America for 3 years so I usually dont get out of the group. |

I guess people aren't used to the transition yet, hopefully after a few seasons they'll finally get it. | I love how some people do a combination of ride names from Six Flags and Geauga Lake. Like the Dominator becomes: Batmanator, and Steel Venom becomes: Superman Venom.

| | | Or how about referring to certain rides as rides from other parks?
My favorite of all time....(at SFKK)
"Can you tell me where Son of Beast is?"
"Sure...two hours north east of here!"

| | | I've heard V2 @ SFGAm called Deja Vu. I've also heard SD called Orient Express. And then there's the classic "rolly coaster." But my biggest pet peeve is when people put "the" in front of any ride that doesn't have "the" in its name (eg: The Mamba, The Batman, The Boomerang, The Space Shot, etc.)

| | | How about when guests simply abbreviate names. I've heard the Penguin's Blizzard River simply called the Penguin ride; kind of funny actually.

| | | There is never a day at Magic Mountain where X isn't referred to as "The Xtreme" by guests. Nobody ever calls The Riddler's Revenge by its full name, they just say "Riddler" and the same is with Batman - The Ride (just Batman) and Superman - The Escape (just Superman). I've also heard "Colossal" (Colossus).
Although this is an isolated incident, this one lady oustide SFMM was looking at the list of rides were temporarily not operating for that day, and Superman - The Escape was in the list. She didn't connect both parts of the ride's name together as one and asked her spouse "...Superman's closed too. So is The Escape, is that new? I don't think I've been on that, too bad it's not open."
At Knott's, I hear Jaguar! pronounced "Jaguire" so many times. |
