You just havent lived till you work at Hersheypark and have people asking you where to find the Screaming Stalion when the are reffering to Storm Runner, or people asking where they can find the rollercoaster named Midway America when they really ment to say Wild Cat haha. I saved the best for last however, having someone come up to you and ask you where they can find the big green rollercoaster named The Snake then after having a 20 min long arguement with them about how there is no such ride sending them to a rides employee and watch the rides employee give them directions to this "big green ride named Snake" when there is not even a green rollercoaster in the park

At PKI - people always call Rugrats Runaway Reptar - Raptor or Reptars Revenge...

Also - it is SON OF BEAST not THE SON OF THE BEAST!!!!!! lol

I once had a woman point at Italian Job: Stunt Track and ask if that was the "Imperial". I was like - "What?"

Then also I have had a few people ask where the Screamin Demon is - and they swear they rode it last year - when in fact it was removed A LONG time ago and is now at Camden Park! lol

Here were my favorites, I'd swear to God if these aren't totally for real.

Magnum Force (mentioned above, the most common)
Maximum Air (relatively common)
Iron Dragster (could be either one!)
Twisted Sisters (Wicked Twister)

A little off-topic: in Guest Services, we have "Parent Swap" forms that we give. We wrote down all the crazy names people gave these too. The list was endless, but here's a jist of it.

Parent Trade
Kid Change
Parent Swap Pass

Same for "Getaway Guide"

Getaway Book
Getaway Pass
Coupon Fun
Coupon Savings

Family Fun Guide

Sigh...

Just a nice normal day, minding my own business, just doing my job.

Me- "Alright guys, this is an all day locker..."
Guy #1 (talking among group)- "Hey, what should we ride first?"
Me- "...in which you can go in and out of as many times as you want..."
Guy #2- "I don't know, Magnum probably has a short line..."
Me- "...then when you're done at the end of the day..."
Extremely looking nerdy Guy-"Hey guys, let's go ride the Millennium Falcon!!!"
Me- "just return the ke..ke..keeeeeeeexcuse you?!"
Guy #1- "Dude, it's the Millennium Force."
Me (hands clenched in a fist over my face)- "get out...Get Out...GET OUT.........GET OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!"

I don't really care if they get then names wrong. What really pisses me off is when you hear stuff like this.

1. Dude this boomerang goes 85 mph and is 350 ft tall.
2 This is the tallest roller coaster in the world dude (looking at a S&S combo tower).
3. I flipped over in the log flume.
4. And last but not least, " Dude this roller coaster goes 90 mph" Even when they hear the spiel repeatedly saying this ride goes 60mph.....

At Canobie Lake Park I hear a lot of name confusions

Canobie Cannonball
Star Ball
Corkscrew Blaster
Matter Star
The Boston Tea Log
"That loop-de-loop coaster"

I operate "That loop-de-loop coaster" and to confuse the riders that call the Canobie Corkscrew even more I say "And enjoy your ride on the Yankee Tea Party"

In 2003 while standing in line for dragster I herd a guy claim to his girlfriend that he has ridden a rollercoaster twice the speed and height of TTD. I just had to laugh.

People at SFMM still refer Arrowhead Splashdown to Jet Stream, or Jet Streamer... and I am one of them. Ive heard people call Deja Vu: Deha Blue.

While I won't go hating on how guests act, they are there to have fun, and if they choose to act stupid that's their thing, It' my job to keep the fun rolling along.
I did have a guest stop by Guest Relations
and leave the comment that the Scarecrow at Apollo's
Chariot made her daughters day.
The only thing was, I was the scarecrow at Alpengeist,
no cast member at Apollo's Chariot was dressed up.
So the nice compliment made it's way to me, I don't know what I did to make the childs day, but I'm glad she had a great day!
Now if only her mom could remember what ride they were at when it happened!

for name mixups, even at Carowinds - the Gauntlet instead of Rocket Power, Scooby Doo instead of 'Fairly odd Coaster (A GOOD Mixup), i've heard Top Gun called Batman, Borg is often "The Borg."

for exaggerations

i liked hearing that Thunder Road (about 90 feet tall and a good 40 or so MPH) could go 80 MPH and that TG cleared 100

i also liked hearing that Drop Zone was 200 feet tall (it's really about 125), Borg went 70mph (really 51), and that they'd been on a better flying coaster at SFOG that was '250 feet tall and 85 mph' (it really goes 150 feet high and is SLOWER then borg...

i love the GP and their exaggerations... also i often laugh at redneck's claiming to their friends ridiculous facts about rides.. but what pisses me off is when they act like they know what they're talking about, and when you kindly correct them, they laugh at you and continue telling their friends that Carowinds' Hurler once had loops, or that they rode Top Gun the Jet Coaster with their restraint open...

I just ignore it at Geauga Lake where people call "ThunderHawk" "Serial Thriller" and "Dominator" "Batman" & all that. But when people walk through King's Island going "Oh yeah, well I rode King of Beasts three times then rode Avalanche Express afterwards" it just makes me laugh. As a mistake, that's fine but when they do it in an "I-know-for-sure" kinda way... I don't know, I think it's funny.

One of the more strange I heard was someone calling Disaster Transport "Space Mountain." Someone's about, 1000 miles off. Other priceless moments include "Magnum Force", "Rip-tore" (Instead of Raptor... Don't ask me how they got that.) and "Millennium Power".

  • Demon Fall (Demon Drop)
  • Mr. Hydes Demon Drop (Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall)
  • King of Beasts (Son of Beast)
  • Avalanch Express (Adventure Express)
  • Castle of Darkness, Curse of Darkness, Curse on the Dark Castle (Curse of DarKastle)
  • Fighting Dragons (Dueling Dragons)
  • Magnum Force (Millennium Force / Magnum XL-200)
  • Magnum XS Tech (Magnum XL-200)
  • Rip-Tore (Raptor, I guess)
  • Mantu (Mantis... I Guess They Were Thinkin Montu)
  • Space Mountain (Disaster Transport)
  • Mummy's Return (Revenge of the Mummy)
  • Twilight Terror Tower (Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror)
  • Twinstar (I don't know... Gemini?)
  • The Bad Guy (The Villain... Yes, I Seriously Heard This. The Guy went on to explain how Geauga Lake had to change the name to The Bad Guy from The Villain)
  • Superman: Final Flight (Wicked Twister)
  • X-Flight (Raptor)

Some people is so ghetto.

I overheard some guests this weekend talking about going to ride Raptor. I was thinking to myself, "Raptor is 10 hours away from here!"

Of course they meant Runaway Reptar (PC).
