| | | Guests getting rides' names confused? Do you work at a park and constantly hear guests calling rides by the wrong name? Post your thoughts here.
As for me, I have a few. I work at SFKK and constantly hear T2 as being named Batman. Also a lot of people refer to it (Chang) as The Chang. There is no "the"!!!! Also many confuse Twisted Twins with Thunder Run. And although it's not a name, many call Mile High Falls a log flume. It's a spill ride people! Shoot the Chutes actually. There are no logs on it; it's a boat. Sorry about the rant, but do you all have any similar happenings?

| | I worked at Cedar Point this summer, and there were some WHOPPERS!! White Water Landing was often refered to as the log ride (it has canoes). Thunder Canyon (Intamin river rapids) was called White Water Canyon (Thanks PKI) Snake River Falls, was often Thunder River. The newest ride at Cedar Point is the Airmax. Coasters at Cedar Point, according to some guests, include the Rapture, Magnum Force (isn't that at a zoo?) the Ironcat (yeah, somebody actually said it) and my personal favorite, the Millennium Dragster Ride. I heard that one twice on the same day from two different people! You know, it's that one ride in the park that takes you up real high and drops you. Gee that narrows it down. Some people defy the laws of stupidity. lol

| | | Tons of people still call the coasters at Geauga Lake by their Six Flags names. My dad still does it and it annoys the crap out of me. I guess people aren't used to the transition yet, hopefully after a few seasons they'll finally get it. |

| | | Don't get much of that at Carowinds but i have heard a few.
People got TG & Vortex confused for some reason back in 1999. I have no clue why. I still hear people calling Fairly Odd Coaster Scooby but it just changed names this year.

| | | Oh my God! Rides are being called the wrong names, it's the end of the world. Especially when it's water rides no less. What are we going to do? I've been to SFGAm a few dozen times over the last few years and I still don't know some of the names of the water rides or other small flat rides. I don't care if it's Ice Mountain Splash, Aquafina adventure, Evian Endless River or Dasani Falls, it's just a water ride.

| | | ^ Yes *let's all sing together*it's the end of the world as we know it....
The GP always get confused on names, my friends or coworkers come up to me and say did you see that new ride King Kong? or something silly like that (they meant Kingda Ka).
It's only enthusiasts that care about these things.

| | I still called Fairly Odd Coaster Ghoster Coaster when I was at PC. What a stupid name, Fairly Odd coaster, Scooby Doo was teh awesomer. So were the Loony Tunes, come to think of it, but now that they aren't shown anymore, how does SF still market them?
I've had people ask me where Batman was when they were 100 feet from the entrance, which has a huge sign:
BATMAN:
THE RIDE
Also, people asked me if I could go over to Deja Vu and operate it on days when it was closed. I wish, but I'm too young to operate .

| | Whenever I will go to Geauga Lake for my first visit I will not care what I call the coasters. Mostly likely I'll have a toss up with Dominator/Batman but I'll definitely call Steel Venom Superman.
The only ride I have a peeve about is my namesake. I'm ok with it being called CHILLER; it's also fine if it's called Batman & Robin: The CHILLER. I don't like each side being called "Batman: The CHILLER", etc. etc. I prefer "the Batman side of CHILLER." It's ok to just say Robin as well but I if I say Batman I could confuse people with the invert a few yards away.

| | | I work at Clementon Park...
our guests are always confusing the names of rides (there's only one coaster). Usually people get that right, although one person asked me where Tsunami was...
People constantly call Chaos, Chatoic for some reason, And one person swore to me a few weeks ago that they rode it (even though it's been closed since June). Inverter is constantly being called Inverted. |

Let them vent. Quote: |

Both of you work the entrance of a coaster for a while and I will guarantee you that you will get irritated after a period of time (especially when you get brainless people pointing to Gemini and asking if it's Magnum... when they're at the Magnum entrance). I've also been in cases where people will tell me where the entrance for Millennium Force is and they point at Dragster's tower. Those are just two examples of countless stupidities.
Though, that's not counting my pet names for some rides (Magnum = Maggie (which is common among some other hosts at CP), Iron Dragon = Draggin' Iron, Raptor = Flying Chicken, and Wicked Twister = Twisted Wicker, because of the nightly welds). |

| | ^ That's true, but that person while not an enthusiast is still involved in the industry.
Coaster enthusiasts are like Trekies in a lot of ways. We know coaster bits of information that nobody but the "community" really cares about. Just like when Trekies get together and start spouting names and battes and ships I could care less. (Even though I do like Star Trek)

| | | Thank you for those poorly spelled, punctuated, and capitalized double posts! Please try again!
^That should be the message for those that spell poorly or double post.
Oh, and I forgot, people always call Mindbender the Joker or the Riddler, and they get (got I guess now) Gasp and Acro mixed up as well.
