| | | A very strange request... I felt it fair to warn you guys before you opened this thread because when you see why I'm making this thread, it's going to throw you off. I did a project where I had to do a budget for a special event and I did mine as a trip to various amusement parks in a decent sized group. He wanted me to be more specific than the $20 a day food budget that was based on the eating habits of those same people at various amusement parks.
So what I'm asking is: If you are an employee of Hershey Park, Great Adventure, Six Flags America, or Dorney Park and you know the prices of food at some sit-down places, could you be so kind as to let me know what they are? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

| | | You could pretty much make up the dishes and estimate a average price of $7-10 per entre, and $3-4 a drink. That's going to hold up pretty much regardless of what park you eat at, or what kind of food you're eating.
If it's a dining service restaurant, where they serve you, add on a dollar or two a plate, plus tip.
The only thing specific that I remember at a park is that Cedar Point and Cypress Gardens both have buffets that are $10/ adult.

| | | I know at a place like Macaroni's at CP the prices are fairly similar to what you would see at a place like TGI Fridays (i.e. $9 for a chicken ceasar salad..etc). |

| | | I don't really know the prices at the sit down places at dorney. When I eat food at Dorney, its either in the employee caf, wendys down the road, or the mcdonalds across the street. I know that there are some deals at the non sit down food places in the park. The tacos are 99 cents, a huge turkey leg for 3.50 and some other stuff. Another thing i found that is great at Dorney and most other parks, is that you can get water out of the soda machine for free.
p.s. I vaguely remember looking at the prices for the game day grille (sports pub like sit down restaurant) I believe the meals were 5-10 bucks.

| | | I can't say for sure but I would imagine Dorney Park is very similar in price to Cedar Point since they are run by the same company. Here are some prices from CP:
Quick Service Prices:
Hamburger, Fries, small Pepsi: $8.95
Hand Cut French Fries: $3.75
Hot Dog on a Stick: $3.00
20oz Pepsi: $3.00
Famous Daves:
Salad w/Chicken: $9.95
1/2 BBQ Chicken, Beans, Corn on the Cob, Corn Bread: $14.95
Fountain Drink or Iced Tea: $2.50
Desserts: $5.95
Midway Market Buffet: $9.95 for lunch
Johnny Rockets:
Chicken Finger Basket: $8.95
Milk Shake: around $4.00
Fries: $3.00
Gameday Grille (also at Dorney Park):
Chicken Fingers: $8.95
Salad w/Chicken: $9.95
Fries: $3.00
Fountain Drink: $2.50
I'm doing this from memory, but those prices should be pretty close to what you would find at Dorney Park. |

| | | Famous Dave's is amazing. When you are at Cedar Point be sure to go there. It is a great rejuvenator in the middle of the day. |

| | | I agree, Famous Dave's is by far my favorite on-Point Restaurant and one of the best in Sandusky. It's probably a toss up between Famous Dave's and Chet & Matt's. |

| | | Who eats sitdown places at a park anyway?
I grab a hot dog, fries, or eat before and after, park food is too expensive. |

| | | Alot of the sit down places end up being the same price, or a better value, than the food stands, and the food is usually way better. Plus the air conditioning energizes you for the rest of the day. |

| | | I agree with slnewbus, by the time you buy a full meal at a food stand it would have been cheaper to go to a sit-down restaurant.
Quick Service Meal:
Hamburger: $6.95
Hand Cut French Fries: $3.75
32oz Fountain Pepsi: $3.50
Total: $14.20 + tax
Sit Down Meal:
Chicken Fingers: $8.95
Fries: $3.00
Fountain Drink (Free Refills!!!): $2.50
Total: 14.45 + tip & tax
For a meal that only costs $0.25 more before the tip & tax, I would certainly like to enjoy an hour of air conditioning and free refills on my drinks, not to mention the food is much higher quality in a sit-down restaurant. |

| | | Sit down is definately better, even if it's cafeteria style. Air condiitioning, better food, somewhat cheaper most times. Food stands usually are made for on-the-go eating, so everything's priced like it's an entree.

| | | PKIdelirium, I know you are young but oh my friend oldtimers like me eat at sitdown places in parks. My fav sit down place is at Indiana Beach. The restaurant overlooks the park and serves some of the best food I have ever eaten and has tableclothes and the whole nine yards. The food is great $8-$20.00 can't remember exactly but worth every penny compared to $10.00 gets a soda and a sandwhich from most any other park food stand
