Just got my work location at Disney

I am doing the College Program, and I found out today where I work. I will be at the Boardwalk. That hotel is awesome. I am so glad I get that one. It is really nice. Anyone else work at Disney, and what place?

I'm moving down to Orlando for school tomorrow and should be working at Disney in the near future. I'm looking forward to it.

I think you definitely lucked out at the Boardwalk, it's a very nice place.

I drove over today to check it out. Its very nice. And the costumes aren't bad at all. My roomate has the worst outfit of them all. He works at the Pizzafari or something like that. He has to wear a tie-dye outfit.

You're already there? I fly down on the 26th and move in the next day. I can't wait! 4 more days left at GAdv, then the packing begins.

What type of job are you gonna be doing? I was at first thinking of operations, but then when the parks end up staying open really late, I would not want to be doing that.

I applied for operations, so hopefully I'll be working a ride. I'm gonna try to sneak in some extra hours with their Park Services department since I have experience at Great Adventure.

Your gonna like it. Im already having an awesome time. Me and my roomates met up with a big group of college program people and we all went on The Tower of Terror, and then we met up with even more people (we first had 9) and went on Rockin Roller Coaster. We took up the whole train, lol. Its just fun. All the people in the other group was singing in the line for the WHOLE time on Rockin Roller Coaster. They sang disney songs, and who knows what else. Think an hour straight. There is a pool party tonight which im gonna go to. Everyone there is so nice. I think we are all gonna be brainwashed by the end of the year, lol.

A friend of my brother did this a few years ago and hated it, but he was a freaky kid and didn't get along with his roommates. He was also in merch and hated the tourists. I think he came back early. My boyfriend knows some people who have done it and loved it. He wants to do it in a year or two. I'm still not sure, but I'm only 17 so I have a while to decide. It sounds like fun though.

I went over to casting today and I now have my first job ever. They didn't have many positions open for part timers, but I'm still happy with what I got. I'm going to be a park greeter at MGM.

Congratulations. I wish I'd been smart enough to get some experience in the amusement industry when I was younger. It will be a great experience I'm sure. Enjoy.

The BoardWalk, my pride and joy. I worked there for 5 months at the front desk. I can still hear my hard rubber shoes pounding the hard wooden floors in the lobby. Enjoy every minute of it and remember, "Welcome Home".

*Edit- Once Halloweekends start, I'll have time to help with any questions you might have about the hotel or the college program.

I heard welcome home already about 50 times...lol. But that hotel aready seems awesome. I am really glad I got that. It is the nicest hotel, and the closest to me for driving. My costume sucks, I look like an elf.

Horay! They messed up my costume and I actually wear shorts instead of the other thing. And my job is awesome. I just stand in the Bell Service stand, and I answer the phone, and write down tag numbers. I also just answer guest questions. Everyone that works there seems really cool, but I am the youngest.

Wow, that seems like a pretty straight forward job. That's awesome.

No, luckily. I also get to drive a van around to hotels and do luggage transfers. That is fun.

Recognize anyone?

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...7/File0014.jpg

Luggage T/Rs were awesome. Some hotels were cool and would help you unload, but then some others, (Thank you very much Yacht and Beach, I will see you in hell), would simply stand there and watch you and yell at you for using their carts.

Screw those long pants, only the bellhops had to wear those back in my day. Do they still do the juggling acts inside the lobby when it rains? No matter how many times I watched it, it never got old.

Yea, they still do those acts. I also like the shows also. I never saw it before until they did it in the lobby. And The OKW helped me, but the other ones would not help to much. It gets very buisy on Sundays. Luckily the crowds are light for the next few months. Do you know any of those guys names? I don't know the names yet, but does (Jeff, Mohamed, Al, Tito) ring a bell? Who is the one on the way right? BTW, who were your managers? Did you have Marny? We have one Manager from NJ who is really cool, but I forget his name.

Don't be surprised to be working till 1:00 -3:00 in the morning for EMH. I have a roomate who has to stay late every night, and gets 1 night off a week. He is in Tomorrowland Merch though.
