If you can stand to live on a cruise ship for 6 months it's awesome. I was a character guide for my 6 month contract which ended in September.

I had lots of time off since we worked 30/30 (30 min on, 30 min off) for 14 hours every day so basically i only worked 7 hours in a 14 hour day. That is if you call standing beside a character work.

You really save alot of money since you really don't have to buy anything except beer but i really had no time for drinking so i saved enough money to walk off the boat and pay cash for a new car which was very nice.

Very tight quarters which you share with 2-3 others but i was luckey enough to get roomed with a friend who was doing a 6 month contract as well.

You hardly ever get to leave the ship at ports but i did get off the ship a few times in my 6 months. You work 6 days a week so if your luckey enough to be at port on your day off you get to leave the ship.

I did enjoy all the free food but regreted it after gaining 15 pounds but since september i have lost that 15.

I would do it all again and next time i plan to do a 1 year contract but i'll wait 3-4 years when the 2 new ships come online.

A person who goes on sets with the character like you see at theme parks. You always see an employee with a character.

It's called a guide/escort/cohort/Walkaround. Just depends on where you are.

Carowinds used Cohort. Disney World uses escort i believe. The Nick Hotel (where i worked for 6 weeks) called them guides as well as the Disney Cruise Line.

A character guide (aka escort or cohort) is someone who walks with the characters and organizes the kids for photos, makes sure the character is okay, etc.

I'm not sure how any of this has to do with Carowinds, since your post is titled HEY CAROWINDS...enlighten me?

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

Why did he delete them in the first place? No need to hide a job you have, that is, unless its completely made up.
