| | | Walley World 20 Year Reunion with TNT...READ! Hello everybody. The purpose of this thread is to share with you all an idea that came to mind a few weeks ago. I had been watching National Lampoon's Vacation, which is the movie in which the Griswald's take a cross-country trip to Walley World, which is actually Six Flags Magic Mountain. The movie was made in 1983, and the Griswald's rode rides like Colossus and Revolution. The year 2003 will be the 20 year reunion of the movie, and I was thinking (and praying) that we may be able to organize something for TNT and the reunion. I was thinking of having the original cast (Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, etc.) of the movie as guests and the main purpose of the event. The only problem would be contacting these people in order to arrange the event. I am aware that National Lampoon's Vacation was a Warner Bros. production, so it is probably possible to contact them by going through WB. I think that an event of this calibur would certainly help TNT prosper in the way we designed it to. If anybody has any comments or suggestions, do not hesitate to reply. In addition, it would help if anybody here had any connections to Warner Bros. or any of the other aforementioned parties.

| | | It wasnt actually Wally World (I believe) it was just made up for the movie in which the park was Wally World. Good luck getting Chevy Chase to show up, you'll need it.

| | | Yeah, well I'm sure with all the money TN has they could pay Chevy Chase, and I'm sure the cast there would want coaster enthusiasts at their reunion..... lol |

| | | It would be really fascinating if you could actually pull this off, but I feel getting the stars to show would be difficult unless WB decides to do it themselves. I don't see us coaster enthusiasts having enough clout to pull something like this together. But if you managed it, I'll be there.

| | | I bet u they'll plan the event, we'll all show up and be amazed by the empty parking lot, park in the last spots so we can get out the easiest, run to the entrance only to find out it's closed ;) |

| | | Remember when they stop at that gas station and those hick-type people are there? That scene happens right after they drive through Monument Valley. Well, that gas station is in the town I'm from, Kayenta, Arizona. The gas station isn't there anymore, it's a Buger King, but I think it's really awesome that a part of that film took place in my hometown! When they drive away, the big bluish mesa in the back is Black Mesa. It's a dead-giveaway that it's in my town, and I think that's awesome! Funny thing, though; they turn the wrong way if they're heading to California after that part, but are they headed to CA or Walley World (Was Walley World in CA in the film?) Just thought I'd point that out. Heehee

| | | The purpose of this thread is to gather suggestions and ideas for the possible event I had mentioned, not to talk about the movie. Let's get this back on topic.

| | | I seriously doubt that you can get the actors to show up. Unless you pay them a lot of money, which ThrillNetwork doesn't strike me as having. |

| | | Iseriously doubt this is gonna happen (sorry guys). However, I think it is a good idea, but it'j ust too much work over a movie a lot of people unfortunately just don't care much about anymore.
