Wwf Raw

First off...if you don't like wrestling, please do not respond to this thread.

The first WWF Raw of the new year saw Triple H, The Game, make his return to the squared circle. Did anyone see this and was it overhyped? From what we learned on raw, Austin, HHH, Angle and Taker will be among the 30 men involved in the Royal Rumble. But about HHH, it is great to see Hunter back in the ring and ready to take on the world.

What does that have to do with anything? Go to a show, and see the majority of the people are in their 20's or older. Anyway, I thought they hyped it up just a tad bit too much, but HHH looks HUGE now more than he ever was...can't wait to see him take on Angle.

And exactly what is your point??

Not everyone on Earth, but people of ALL ages enjoy this production of sports entertainment produced by the one Vincent K. McMahon. I know people that have watched wrestling in the 50's and 60's. The greats of Freddie Blassie, Buddy Landel, Ric Flair, Lou Thesz, Killer Kowalski, and the list goes on. Back about 40 years ago, there was not highflying. There was not any pyros, the wrestlers did not have their own music. It was a fledgling company, then known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation. They were in competition with the AWA, NWA, and several spinoff feds. About 1985, VKM said, "If football has their super bowl, then I would like to make a "super bowl" for wrestling" and thus, Wrestlemania was born. Three years later found WM in the Pontiac Silverdome. 93,000 strong to see the Immortal Hulk Hogan bodyslam the 500lb, Andre the Giant. We would see WM go to Madison Square Garden (WM and WM X), the Hoosier Dome (WM VIII), Skydome (WM VI and WM X-8), and even an outdoor WM at Caeser's Palace (WM IX).

Some people take coasters or their park to seriously here, well I take my wrestling seriously. First off, yes I know it is fake, thats why it is called sports entertainment. Second, the wrestlers know who will win before they step foot in the ring. They go through the match before hand, picking out some high spots and work with the fans in carrying the match. Yes they are taught how to fall, yes they do blade. Blading, for those that don't know, is cutting yourself open after a shot to the head by a blunt object. The cut is deep enough to bleed, but not deep enough to be cause for worry. That's in most cases.

What I don't like is how people watch a performer fall through a table, be knocked off a ladder from 20 or more feet and say, "they know how to fall." You cannot be taught to fall from a ladder or through a table. Some of these things are instinct that take over. The injuries are real, there is no faking of a broken neck, broken arm, broken ankle, torn muscles.

So in answer to your question, yes I am 24 and have oinly been watching this since I was 18. I own about 10 shirts and half of my video (part of my music collection) collection is wrestling related. If you look at it this way, I'm just as bad as anyone wo lives, eats, and breathes roller coasters.

I didn't catch RAW, because I just completely forgot while in the midst of a competitive series of Mario Kart games, but it is great that Hunter's back, and bigger than ever. I remember just 5-6 years ago when he wasn't anywhere near the size that he is now. I'm interested to see what will become of all of this.

I was stuck backstage at a WWF something or another at work one night and saw all the "stars" rehersing their moves and talking about the "fights". I'm not a fan of wrestling. However, I was a semi-fan of the XFL because the games were a lot of fun to watch live. Tons of topless girls.
