I'm assuming you mean "date" rather than "day" -- this year, February 3rd, delayed because of the games that were postponed (set back a week) due to the September 11th attacks.

Thank you very much. I heard that it's a good day to go to parks since everone is at home watching the game. Hopefully my parents will be willing to go.

Isn't one of the reasons that the Superbowl is in March is because following the attacks, the greedy NFL payers were going to miss out on one measly paycheck?? With all the millions they make, one check shouldn't be much of a difference. Plus wasn't the NFL the last sports organization to do something for the victims and families of the attacks?? I could care less when the SUper Bore/Bowl is.

Yeah, I'd much rather watch men in tights and girls with fake boobs fake fight.

Oh, and they're quite the ******** for donating money to the 9/11 fund late. I mean, seriously now, how long does it take to write a multi-million dollar check?

PS: It's supposed to be "couldn't care less"....well, maybe you could care less. If you didn't care at all you wouldn't have posted in this forum.

As far as I know, it wasn't that they'd be missing a paycheck, it's due to the wildcard games that were scheduled and the remote possibility that the contenders in the Superbowl would be different based on the outcomes of those games (it didn't change). But can you imagine the whining and screaming people would do over something like that? They may stand less than a 5% chance of winning in a wildcard game, but take that chance away and you'll never hear the end of it, even considering the reason (September 11th).

Where in my post did I mention men in tights and fake boobs?? I made my OPINION because that is what you do on these boards. If you didn't like it, you could use that handy dandy ignore button that you have advertised for quite a while.

But to open another can of worms...I think the NFL WOULD HAVE played the days following the attacks, they would have been heavily criticized...after all back when JFK was assassinated they went on with the season as if nothing happened.

As stated earlier, the Super Bowl is in February, not March. As for greed, the players weren't the only ones who would have lost out on money. Try all of the vendors, stadium personnel, parking lot attendants, etc, etc, etc. Many people make a living working the Football season and the Baseball season as well as the other sporting events. Missing one week could make a significant difference to these people.

Yes, the main concern was for tv but there are others who would have been hurt.

I was just responding to your post. In your post you dissed the NFL and I responded. You never mentioned fake boobies and men in tights in this post, however you always talk about wrestling (the lamest sport in the world) which contains those things. Nevermind. You're right. Time for the ignore button.

only problem with that is that last years Super Bowl winners were the Baltimore Ravens, a team that I believe was a wild card team. They're also a wild card team this year, also while I do hope that the Chicago Bears get to the Super Bowl, it is possible that the Green Bay Packers could get there as well. So it would be unfair to get rid of a wild card game. Besides those extra games provide a lot of money for the teams and the cities that have a team in the wild card game.

Let me see, if I thought like that.....I guess I can say one of the reasons that the World Series was in November was because following the attacks, the greedy MLB players were going to miss out on one measly paycheck?? With all the millions they make, one check shouldn't be much of a difference... If you're going to think like that, at least don't leave out baseball because they extended their season into another month too.....Anyway, as already stated, both baseball and football extended their season to make up for the missed games because of the playoffs. Things could have wound up much different if they didn't make up for those games, and that's not fair. And oh yeah, college football added an extra week too, I guess they were greedy and were going to miss out on one measly paycheck, right...wait, they don't get paid. I guess they actually wanted to play a true season....Imagine what would have happened had every team played one less game, things would be dramatically different.
