I was just curious about what everyone plans on going into as a career, and be a little more detailed than "i wanna be a coaster person" ;). Personally, I'm gonna go for the engineering degree, continue taking CAD classes, and work as a ride designer for a coaster firm. :)

I honestly don't know what I want to do. I might go into law and study it at a good school, or I might get involved with computers. It depends on what I want to do when I graduate, and what opportunities open up to me.

This topic may be a repeat, but i believe that pretty much everyone on this forum wants to be a coaster designer. I do too but i know the odds are pretty low and seeing as how i would have to move to switzerland or something to work for b&m or intamin ( two fav companies) it probably won't happen ( although switzerland looks nice.

anyways im still unsure of what i would want to do when i grow up. i know i'd rather earn less (still make a good living) at something i like to do than more at something i dont like to do.

I plan to go to college for communications or go to some film school.. any college that has alot in that area. Then after that.... I plan to direct movies/short films/music videos or do behind the scenes special effects/editing.. or do alittle of both. :) Don't know exactly yet, time will tell. And of course, ride lots and lots of more coasters cuz the few i've been on aren't enough! No amount of coasters is ever enough :D

Hehe I'd love to be a coaster designer!!! But YEA RIGHT, thats probably the hardest thing to get into... plus I'd rather just keep riding B&Ms than try a coaster I designed :) :D

Good topic

Actually I don't wish to be a coaster designer...perhaps a coaster themer? is that a job? Can I create it just for me? ;)

Seriously I'm considering being an art teacher...either that or full time Evil Princess.

After high school I either plan on going into the army, or a small technical school to learn computer programming. Then I could design 3D coasters! Just kidding. I don't know what kind of career I want to get into yet.

Im taking advaned classes like the mother. Im hitting everything possible. Im even taking classes in medical fields that Im not supposed to be taking, all for the sake of having a good amplication for the college so I can go to a great sckool and become an architect and be the one who take the designers ideas and makes them real and manages what everyone does in making the coaster. From their Ill move into things in the future, after i gain experiance with coaster building.

I want to do Everything!:D   Seriously I wanted to be a roller coaster designer but I don't know if I'm up for all the work. I've also considered being an actor (school plays); writer (I'm actually writing a novel, short story, and a short film screen play that I want to direct, AND I write poems all the time); musician; I like horticulture (designing landscapes is fun); I'm into cooking (you wouldn't belive the things I could whip up); so basically everything I can think I've wanted to do. I eve wanted to be a Pyrotechnican (mostly out door fireworks) I have no idea I'm so passioned to evrything I'm sure I want to do it, then a year or two later I start to doubt it and end up changing it. I guess I'll just finsh this year out (my senior year in High school) go to the local JC (it's cheaper and I'll take the same classses then at the College I want) for one or two years then transfer out. Hopefully I'll have some idea then but untill then I'm going for a mechanical/civil engineer degree.

I got basically four things in my sights. Two of which are structural or design engineer. That would allow me to enter a ride company, I would like this tremendusly, but am not limited to it. For some reason Archeology gives an interesting pull to me, I don't really know why, it just interests me. Last, I am interested in space, hence the name, so perhaps something in that area.

I'll probably go into college studying business, music, or dance. I've always wanted to be a Fashion Buyer, or some sort of entertainer. So I'm not quite sure yet.

I want to be in the managment aspect of theme parks. Basically I want to run theme parks or pretty much any park. I'm planning on getting a buisness degree and then a MBA with an emphasis in the resort/hotel managment aspect. If the whole running a park falls through, then an MBA isn't exactly a shatty degree.
