| | | His Ariness Divorced According to the press, it seems Michael Jordan and his wife are getting a divorce. His wife filed for divorce one or two weeks ago, alleging that she had a private investigator follow MJ around for the last 4 years and caught him doing some less than husbandly things. This was the same woman who forced Jordan to marry her 9 years ago after she became pregnant with his child. Now she wants half of everything he owns, which makes her now probably the quickest person to make $400 million dollars. I find all this very revealing and it just goes to show (yet again) that even these seemingly god-like athletes aren't perfect.

| | | I think she should get custody for one reason: A dad could not be a good dad if he is away from home for about eighty days. As for the divorce part, it shouldn't really be the public's business. I couldn't care less, as I would not to hear about anyone's marital problems.

| | | Yeah, uh, who cares. Its not like I'm MJ's close personal friend, and I should. But I heard that he was looking for a residence in Potomac, MD, so that he could see his family more often. But did they live in Chicago or NC while he played for the bulls?

Actually, I've known about it for a while and just decided to post a topic on it now. I guess I was just too lazy to do it earlier, lol.

O hell Jordan doesnt care. I saw this coming for the one main reason. He retired probably because his wife wanted him too, and now that he has gone back, shes all pissed because she rarly sees him. I dont blame her

His wife and children lived in Chicago (actually a suburb) while he palyed for the Bulls. As far as I know they still live here (Chicago) while he has been playing for the Wizards.

| | | I don't know where I heard this, but with Jordans wife wanting half of everything, that means that she gets 3 NBA Championship rings without playing a single minute. I think there's more to the story than what the press has revealed, but why is it a big news item that a sports star divorces?? Same thing with the OJ trial. Had any Joe Blow allegedly killed his exwife and her lover, you know their trial would not be televised or in the news every single minute of your life.

| | | I think his wife is asking for WAY too much. Actually when it all adds up, she'll probably be getting more than half if she gets what she wants (which she hopefully doesn't). As mentioned, she'd get three NBA Championship rings, hundreds of millions, the couple's house (and what lies inside it), and full custody of the children. If you ask me, considering everything Michael's done for her, that's WAY too much. Sure, she should get enough to not have to make a drastic financial change in her life, but wouldn't $50 million be enough? If you ask me, that's still too much, no one ever needs that much money. Basically, she'd be winning the lottery with her only ticket bought being getting married into a life of fame being the wife of the former greatest player of all time (I say former because he's obviously not the best out there anymore, but in his prime is still unmatched). Overall, this is a good indication of how many divorce cases goes, one partner tries to get more than they deserve, but the outcomes are never the same it seems. |
