Madden joins Monday Night Football

ABC has inked John Madden to a 4 year deal. He will broadcast MNF games, and work with ESPN. He will join Al Micheals in the booth. Dennis Miller, Dan Fouts and Eric D1ckerson are all gone. This will make for an AWESOME show. I have always really liked Al Michaels, and John Madden has been my favorite ever since I started watching football. This will be what Monday Night Football needs for a revitalization.

That sucks. I can't stand John Madden.
I think Fouts did a great job and he should be able to work out the length of his contract. I didn't like Miller at first but then he started to grow on me like a fungus.
comparing Miller and Madden - At least Miller can spit out a coherent sentence most of the time.

And now the show goes down the drain lol...So Dennis Miller wasn't that great, it's good they got rid of him, but to put in John Madden. Doesn't anyone realize he's horrible?? All he ever does is just repeat things, circle things, and state VERY obvious things...you how many times I've heard him say something along the lines of "If the guy from the other team catches the football, then that's an interception." Like we're THAT stupid??? Sorry, but for some reason he's always annoyed me and at least you could cut Dennis Miller some slack since he wasn't a football expert, but Madden has no excuse.

That sucks so bad! I suppose I was one of the few who throughly enjoyed Dennis Miller and his humor. Hell, from some games, thats why I would watch. John Madden just kinda bumbles and repeats the same incoherent and babbling over and over. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good guy...but I've been gettin tired of him the past couple years. Perhpas he should take a nod from Pat's book and retire as well.

I can not flippin stand John Madden, he is so dumb. If youve ever plaed his game you know its a great game but u get sick of him repeating the same things over and over. Then u turn on a real game its the exact same problem. He is so dumb, not only can he not spit out a correct string of words, but the ones he does say, he slurs. The comments that he makes are really dumb, just call him captain blatently obvious. On Thanksgiving the guy spends the whole day talking about turkey, i dont think hes even sure a game is going on, FOX just wakes him up from turkey daze to talk for a while. When he says things like "The first touchdown really put the packers ahead of the vikings. And that secod touchdown really tied things up." I cant believe that a genius like Dennis Miller (Oh and check the espn.com poll he is 3rd most opular commentator ever).

good i like madden. he was a good coach but hes hes better at commentary.

Dennis Miller was the most annoying, stupid, doesn't know **** about a ****in thing retard on television. His jokes were never the least bit funny (ok anyone making fun of the Lions is funny) and barely ever made sense. John Madden on the other hand, while very stoic and slow talking, at least knows about the game of football and unlike what everybody else said provided intelligent and useful insight into the game. From listening to Dennis Miller I'm not sure he could tell a football from his **** if you slapped him in the head with it.

Doesn't know anything? Huh. All I know is that he knows a lot more than I do. I had to watch the games with a dictionary by my side so I could figure out the meaning of the things he said.
The only problem Miller has is that the average football fan isn't as educated as he is.(Me included)

Dennis Miller knew what he was talking about, as I recall, ESPN.com every Tuesday posted what Dennis Miller comments meant because they were so complex and most people didn't understand.

By the way, I'm a huge fan of the quadruple-triple chin thing John Madden's got :sick: :sick: :sick:

This is not football realed but David Lettermen is also rumored to be moving to ABC from CBS. ABC seems to be getting alot of big name talent. Keep up the good work im sure Madden and Lettermen will help give them higher ratings.

i really dont like john madden. i find him annoying. i wish that pat summeral would consider un-retireing, he was great. MNF will just be annoying now.

Madden and ABC MNF...hmmm.

M&M in a way I guess. Let's see how the first game goes, but I think this will be pretty damn good. Madden is good, no matter how annoying he is telling you what you know.
