AI, the movie

Has anyone seen this movie? I thought it would be really good, andit was for the first 40 minutes or so, but after he left home it turned into the bigggest load of crap i have ever seen. The plot sucked, some parts made no sense at all (they just left the kid to wander around the robot making place) and the ending was HORRIBLE!! Wouldnt hois mom wonder where her husband was? or martin? Or ANYONE?? what did you guys think of this movie?

I have had mixed thoughts on this movie. Knowing that Steven Spielberg directed it, I would think it would be worth a shot at watching. And the advertisments were very flashy and it seems like a high-tech far future kind of movie. But then a lot of people have told me it wasn't very good...But I might watch it in the near future. It was rented out at Blockbuster the last time I went ;)

I was very excited about this movie and saw it when it first came out. The beginning was great, but it slowly went downhill from there. It should have ended while he was underwater. I don't think plot holes were the problem here, it was just done wrong.

I like the movie, but hardly made the way into my 'all time classics' list.

The plot is not confusing at all, to me. I think the only problem is it seems that the end is not really the end.

Some of my friend complained that it would be better if the ending is a happy ending, which by the way I don't agree.

I thought the only cool part was seeing NY in the future that was kinda cool to see. But i think this is one of Spielberg's lesser movies.

Well I was disappointed with the movie. The only good part was seeing the small machine boy react with the family. But when he left everything went down hill. It was like a bad (robin williams robot film) but since that movie was bad, this was horrible.

i'm in total agreement with whoever said that it should have ended with the boy underwater. its all fine up until then, but the last 20 minutes is ruinous. you'd think combining the genius of speilberg and the late kubrick would yield even greater work, but alas. then again, i like both steaks and milkshakes, but a steak milkshake doesn't sound too appealing. ah well.

I liked this movie, but the ending went on to long. It SHOULD have ended with him underwater. It was still a good movie (too me) and I would recommend watching it at least once but more then that is up too you.

I thought it was a good movie. I didn't have a hard time following the plot either. At the end, after he goes to see the blue fairy and humanity destroys itself/ends and the robots (not aliens) find him, I think it actually makes for a pretty good ending to have his mother there for one last day so that he can turn into a "real boy."

There are a lot of little details left out and some annoying plot holes, but these things exist in every movie. If you want to pick some of those up you should read "Supertoys last all summer long" (the book it was partially based on).

That movie was really weird! I did like the NY scenes though! It looked totally weird with it all underwater! I agree though- I too think it should have ended with the boy underwater!!

Oh wait, there was one good thign about the movie. Teddy. He made the movie worth watching. Also, just a thought, maybe kubrick had planned it to end with him underwater, but spielberg decided to be stupid and added the whol alien thing.

It was cackka......if you need a translation of that, please let me know. The only good thing about the film, actually two good things, were Teddy and Jude Law. I thought Jude played his part sensationally and deserved much more credit than he actually got.

The film was bizarre, the ending was surreal and pointless. It reminded me of another completely rubbish film; Vanilla Sky. What a joke that was.

The plot meandered too much, but I followed. A lot of the transitions just didn't seem logical plot-wise at all. Going to NYC was a bit of a stretch, if not pretty cool. I dunno, the plot was wierd. But it really gave you a warm fuzzy feeling when you were done watching. Wierd movie.
