Stop the Insanity! (Disney sequels)

My wife and I absolutely love Disney movies, but we're getting really fed-up with the straight-to-video sequels:

Pocahontas II
Lion King II
Lady & the Tramp II
The Little Mermaid II
Peter Pan II (this one is actually out in theaters!)
Cinderella II

(We might've left some out, I'm not sure ...)

and, we heard last night,

The Hunchback of Notre Dame II

Not to mention their live-action flicks ("Air Bud 4", for crying out loud?? D2 and D3? And I refuse to acknowledge "Angels in the Endzone", after "Angels in the Outfield" was such a good movie.)

What the heck? Do they not have any new ideas for movies?

Now I see a difference between this and "Special Editions" (bringing Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, etc. back to theaters or video with a few enhanced effects and stuff), but this is ridiculous!

Anyone else agree?

Disney made The Rookie and Remember the Titans. Both of those are good movies that came out pretty recently.

I really though Toy Story 2 was a really good sequal for a Disney movie. But some of the others (Lion King 2) I thought were really stupid.

Forgot about Toy Story 2. I really liked that one, too (just as much as the original).

How can they make sequels to these films? In Pocahontas went to Spain or wherever, she died. Dying kinda ruins a sequel if there will be any truth in it. They're doing it because they can make money. Something with Disney on it is probably gonna be a money-maker. Toy Story 2 was good, though. All the others sound really dumb.

Toy Story 2=good

Why? Because of Pixar.

Same with Monster Inc. If sequels were made for that, it would probably be good. Instead Disney assigns a writer to a broom closet and they tell him to push out a sequel. Let's not leave out Land Before Time in our little sequel feud. I don't know if that's Disney, but there a butt-load of sequels to that!

The new sequels are totaly unecisary, they ruin a good thing. The older entertainment value in the originals is left behind with them, they need to stop or the clasics we enjoyed will be ruined for the next generations. If a movie wasnt intended to have a sequal orignally, one shouldnt be made, a good sequal needs to be designed with the orignal. Theese movies were not.

The trouble with Disney is that they make a really good movie, and then completley ruin it with a sequel. Take The Lion King. I've heard that it was one of the top grossing animated films of all time. It was so popular that Disney decided to try a sequel. The Lion King II was horrible (or so I heard, I never actually saw it). Sometimes I think that they think that they can produce a mediocre sequel, and it'll earn as much money as the original. The one exception was Toy Story 2, which I thought was even better then the original Toy Story.

I can see making sequals to some of the newer ones that aren't classics, but after so much time, deciding to make sequals to movies like Snow White, Peter Pan, and Cinderella?? You just don't mess with classics like that. What would people think if all of a sudden, Gone With the Wind II came out? Walt would be pretty disgusted if he was still alive.

Ladies and Gentlemen, three simple words can clear up all this misunderstanding:

Disney. Is. Evil.

Not Walt, I love Walt's work. It's just his company is ripping off the American public, sweeping all their shortcomings under the metaphorical carpet, and making children believe that their parents don't love them if they aren't taken to Disneyland, or WDW. They signed Aerosmith when they had an existing contract with Geffen for cryin' out loud. Do what I do. Boycott their 'product', to the best of your ability. (I watch Alias. Please don't sue me.)

But I digress. Disney just wants to make money by giving poo to the American consumer, and make them buy it through a 3-year-old child grabbing onto their leg begging not to let go to buy this toy, DVD, or whatever that they'll only play with or watch once. That's all there is to it.

I forgot about Toy Story 2, that was good, why, because the original was designed to have a continuation.
