| | | Interesting school days What kind of interesting stuff happens at your school every so often?
A few weeks ago our school had a very interesting week indeed.
On Wednesday there was a bomb threat shortly before lunch. The entire school(900 students) was evacuated across the street to the middle school football field. We had to stay there for over two hours before they let us back in the school.
On Thursday there was a gas line rupture over at the middle school. School was dismissed for the rest of the day(it was about 1:30). A side note: I find it interesting that school was cancelled for a gas leak, but not a bomb threat. Our school has had tons of gas leaks, and nothing ever happens. I guess they're just being safe.
Then on Friday the power went out in the morning! It was pitch black in most of the school. It was mayhem! A bunch of students went and threw the full trash cans all over the place, spreading trash everywhere! All the students were herded into the cafeteria, which had sun lights. We only had to stay about 15 minutes, though. Then the power came back on.

| | | There's been some very ususual days at my high school. One of them occured when someone stuck a lit cherry bomb down the sink in the bathroom near my 6th period Geometry class. We heard a loud bang and then the smoke alarms started going off. Everyone evacuated the building. The way my school is build, it consists of the main building on a hill, at the bottom of the hill at one end are some more classroms, and at the adjacent bottom of the hill are the P.E. room and athletic fields, with the gym built onto the side of the hill. Everyone evacuated to the athletic fields, and we had a geometry lesson on similar triangles on the football field. Once in Jr. High there was a gas leak in the basement. It occured during science, so we couldn't do a really fun thing with balloon powered airplanes because they evacuated the school for a few hours  . There was also the day in high school when it started raining really hard and all the classrooms except for the ones on the upper floor got flooded. We had no school for a day while they dried the place out. There's also been a couple other interesting occurences, but I won't go into them now.

| | | The only interesting day I can think of came about Oct 31 and Nov 1 in 1995. My freshmen year of college, and just weeks earlier, we were let out of class early (Gen. Psych) so we could head back to our dorms to see how OJ Simpson fared. However...the two dates above were the only two days our university actually shut down. I woke up to go to class and found a note on our main door that classes were cancelled. We learned later that there was a slight explosion on campus in a contrusction area that disrupted power. By about 2:00 that day, we learned that classes the next day were also cancelled. Of course that made my Halloween night that much more enjoyable.

| | | well we had a principal on campus for about a year and a half that everybody absolutely hated..
One day it was tagged on the wall in spray painted right outside the office.. "Ms Billinger You Will be Columbined"
Then she fired 2 of 3 counselors for refusing to tell a pregnant girl she had to leave school because it was bad for the image of the school. A lawsuit filed which was documented in the Press Telegram.
Our School was listed in an LA times story about potential copycat killers...
The the most substantial incident came when there was a bomb threat.. Something was left out on the grass between wings (our school is compltetly outdoors) it was believed to be a bomb. SO The school was called into lockdown, all classes in the vicinity were evacuated... except for us... we were too close to it. The class that day had 4 guys and 10 girls because of a feild trip. So eventually after we had finished our work. And had been in the same class for about 2:30 hours we got up on desks and looked out the window. And what to our wondering eyes should appear... but an LA bomb squad complete in full gear a bomb squad truck and an accompanying of 7 squad cars.... Anyways we created a new sport, classroom baseball, using a wad of paper wrapped in tape and several rulers taped together. After 5 hours of absolutely nothing to do, we heard them detonate the box (standard procedure for bomb squad) turns out wasnt a bomb. So we all went home.
The principle finally got the hint and quit two weeks ago, even though all those things happened last school year.

| | |
we have girl fights like once a week and its funny as hell.
We have several of those also which are very funny. We also sometimes have bomb threats or shooting threats. There was one a month ago but they found out who it was and he got suspened. 2 years ago there was an email sent to everyone of the teachers and was written in a bathroom that said there was going to be a shooting that made the other shootings look like nothing. It was kind of cool b/c we knew no1 was going to do anything and there were cops everywhere in the halls. It was pretty funny to watch girls cry b/c they thought something was really going to happen lol.

| | | It sure is funny when girls do things, isn't it  (see above posts  )
Here's my story. I was working in the office of my high school last year and we take calls and stuff. The phone rang, I picked it up, and a male obviously disguising his voice said, "There's a bomb in the building. You have thirty minutes to get out or you'll all die." *click* I got up and told someone and she got the principal. He told students to evacuate the building and we all did. We were hearded over to the football field and I was covered in people asking me questions. There were students who found out I got the call who talked to me, teachers who asked me what the person sounded like, security officers and police officers. The policemen sorta got annoying after a while, since 8 billion asked me the same thing and wrote it down. I guess it was so that my story was consistent or something. One guy got my SSN, phone number, and birthdate if I remember correctly. That sure was an insane day. All day people were probing me. Some woman who was with the fire dept. asked me stuff and told me how to be professional with the police by saying the person who called was a "mature male" (in that his voice was mature). School got called a half-day (because the students couldn't get lunch that day due to the incident) and I got called to some places later for more questioning. Needless to say, after that, students were a bit more cautious when answering phones. I know I didn't pick the phones up for a few days. It sure was weird. What a day to have during my last year in high school, eh?

| | | Well, we've had a few bomb threats, mostly last year.
Oddly enough not one day did we get evacuated.
In February a bus carrying almost 50 people from my school crashed in Quebec.
The day after was weird, because there were a bunch of TV crews running around outside to interview people and their concerns for the people on the bus, and our wishes for a safe return, etc.
I'm trying to think of some things, but our school is pretty boring...
Oh, one time a drug deal a few streets away from the school went wrong somehow, and there were packets of illegal drugs all over the street.
Well, you should have seen the crowds of people running towards the area... Reminds me of CP's Running of the Bulls...
Speaking of drugs..
On the way back from a TV studio in Toronto a few weeks ago (we were used as a studio audience on a game show), four people actually tried to smoke marijuana on the school bus... with teachers on board.. with a two foot bong...
I was on that bus, it wasn't very hard to notice... lol
Not the brightest bunch of people...
If I think of something else, I'll edit this...

| | | i'm in middle school, so there isn't much happening, but i have a few stories.
last year, six kids got expelled because they were smoking pot in the guys/girls bathrooms. i went through the gym and you could smell it from outside.
there was a bomb threat last year, just like every other year.
the only sort of interesting story that i have is last year an 8th grader got expelled because he was growing weed in his backyard. how stupid is that? The neighbors called the cops because they saw him smoking weed in his backyard and the cops discovered he was growing it too. what a dumb@$$

| | | Well in february it rained for 2 days straight and my school had 3 rooms flooded so it was closed for a day due to water mixing with electricty. We have had bomb threats, usually during the HSC lol! but we hardley ever get evacuated cause they r fake, our principle has taken a course in handleing bomb threats and deciding which is true and which is false.
When i was in yr 8 we had some students striking (they were all drugos) anyways it made it onto national news and in sydney papers! then the media started making things up about how our school has the worst bus record (Our school threatened to sue for false information and everything stopped)
Also we all got evacuated into the oval when i was in year 7 cause all the security alarms had stuffed up and wouldnt stop going off!! all over the school alarms were going off!!! lol!!
Thats about it! my school is pretty boring! if anything interesting happens its only happen like once every 3 years! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
