animated disney movie secrets....

you know what im talkin about....those little small details in the classic disney animated movies that hardly anyone notices but are hardly there. my friend brought up the topic during class and since then, ive been trying to seek out the secrets in each disney cartoon flicks. the only one i know of is the original little mermaid cover art. if you look at it close enough, youll notice that one of the gold castle towers isnt in fact a tower.....;). my friend said that one of the staff for the movie was fired but included a lil present before he left hehe. so anyone else care to share their in-between-the-lines knowledge of animated disney movies?

I have not seen this, but my friend says that also in The Little Mermaid when they get married that the minister or whatever the dude marring them is gets "turned on".

I have always believe these two rumors, especially since I have the orignial Little Mermaid movie cover at home from when I was little. Clearly you can see the "hidden image". However, I looked it up at Snopes.com and found this:

"First of all, the artist who created the video cover art did not work for Disney itself, thus he was neither "disgruntled with Disney" nor "about to be fired." We questioned the artist, who also drew artwork for Little Mermaid theatrical advertising, pop-ups, greeting cards, Happy Meal boxs, and CDs. The theatrical posters were done before the original release of the film, but the video cover art was not created until a few months before the home video version hit the market. Rushed to complete the video artwork (featuring towers that were rather phallic to begin with), the artist hurried through the background detail (at "about four in the morning") and inadvertently drew one spire that bore a rather close resemblance to a penis. The artist himself didn't notice the resemblance until a member of his youth church group heard about the controversy on talk radio and called him at his studio with the news. The later laserdisc release of the film was issued with a cover containing an altered version of the infamous spire."

There are other Disney Urban Legends on that page as well. They list them, along with whether or not they are true, false, or undetermined.

Here, go play for yourselves:

The "Vengeful Animator who was Fired" is pretty much an urban myth. However, there are some interesting moments in some Disney animated films that could be interpreted as having a dirty meaning. To wit:

In The Lion King, when the two young cubs are playing and they hit the sand, the billowing dust rising into the night can appear to spell 's-e-x' in the sky.

In Aladdin, when Aladdin is on Jasmine's balcony and the tiger sorta attacks him, it kind of sounds like Aladdins whispers "Good children, take of your clothes!" or something to that effect.

These are just two examples, and again--they are open to interpretation, and aren't necessarily references to sex.

A lot of these have been approved as false. But really, who knows? Was the Little Mermaid Spire an accident or on purpose? Was that the priest's knee or little buddy? Does the sand really spell sex, or is it just sand? These are just wierd things we may never know about.

The only one that I can remember being absolutely true was in the Rescuers (down under maybe, I'm not sure) when they are flying around some buildings, and in one window, you can see a poster of a real life nude woman. It WAS a nude woman, and they didn't know the artist who placed it there. There's been a conspiracy theory that when Disney re-released this video, THEY added this in and exposed it to the public themselves, just to get some sales up for a video that was lacking in it.

It is true (click here) but they only show it for like 1 frame.

That is just absolutly amazing. Everyone of those has shown me enough evidence to make conclusions that small adult content scenes and words were put into the movie. The reason behind this is beyond my knowing. My guess is someone wanted to show off to their friends or send hidden messages to children. I am just amazed that all the video I watched as a child contained things I never knew where there under my vary eyes. Who knows wat other messages are out there that havent even been found....

I've never really noticed any of those before. I guess it's because I either saw these movies when I was young, and didn't know what those things were, or when I saw them when I was older, I didn't look too closely.

If you go to snopes2.com (the best website ever sorry thrillnetwork) you will see that most of these 'secrets' are actually false. They give good reasons too.

Here are some realy Disney secrets:

The Beast has a tatoo on his shoulder.
Belle appears as an extra in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The Word Sex is in the Lion King. At school last year we were watching it in French class (Teacher was out and left no plans) and there was a class clown who said that and of course no one believed him. He told us when it was about to come up on the screen and sure enough it did which brought the entire class to laughter. I have not heard any of the other ones though except the one about The Rescuers.

I just looked at the box for the Little MErmiad, and sure enough, there it was. It wakes you up. I think the reason no one ever noticed these things is because they are watching the movie, the main characters, not the little bitty detail that has been put it. Usually, you wouldnty be on the look out for those things, unless you had been notified of it.
