What is the next version of Thrillnetwork like?

If my memory serves me correctly, we were getting sneak peaks at Thrillnetwork v2.0 in January. The post mentioned that, "in a few weeks, it'll go live" or something to that effect. Well, it's June now, and still no v2.0, so I think I'm going to compare the continuatal delays of this site to coasters and theme parks.

1. Superman: The Escape - Opens after year long delay. Will this happen to thrillnetwork?

2. WC-USA Theme Park - Promised by Chris Godsey, but no one has seen a shred of credible proof that it's in the works, let alone actually going to happen. Fortuneatly, we've at least seen some documentation of Thrillnetwork v2.0

3. Deja-Vu - Lots of rumors and delays regarding the opening of this coaster, but it does open, and has a lot of problems. I hope Thrillnetwork v2.0 isn't like this!

4. X - Lots of hype, rumors, and delays for this coaster as well, but when it opens, it absolutely blows people away! I sure hope Thrillnetwork v2.0 IS like this!! (with less bugs, and I sure hope it doesn't "crack" either)

Post your own nominations for comparisons!

-Seth

Maybe it will be like SOB. Open with a big bang, then close mysteriously on and off during the summer due to support failure. Support Thrillnetwork V2.0 so it won't close! LOL! :)

I'll tell you some stuff. I'd compare it to Millennium Force. Big hype. When it opened, great reviews! Awesome ride! Many people LOVED it, but some thought it was mediocre. That's probably the exact thing that's gonna happen with TN 2.0.

This is where Kevin Winkler posted a screenshot of the next version of TN...way back in January. So yes, we have an 'idea' of what it will look like.

Hypersonic XLC: Opens but breaks down so often that the park
must rework the trains.
Thrillnetwork 2.0 may go down a few times, but let us hope its not as often as HXLC.

Well, coming from a programmers point of veiw (family member's profession) I know that sometimes it is very difficult to make a web site, and when you do, it can take you hours to find out why it isn't working. Then half the time it is a spelling error! Or the best, is when it is a space where there shouldn't be one. Yeah its tough, give em a break. But anyway, you do make a good point. There are a LOT of delays in the coaster world. But I suppose that there are a lot of delays for other things anyway. Like X-box or PS2. Stuff like that.

Oh, I'm not upset and I perfectly understand the time scale that a website such as this takes to program and implement. I just wanted to come up with something to pass the time, while giving the admins a good ribbin' hehe. Many moons ago, i'd never tell anyone that updates were coming...i'd just have the new site up out of the blue so people wouldn't expect anything. Heheh. Anyhow, I'm not so sure about the next iteration being like 'X'....I don't want Six Flags having intellectual property rights over TN!

Maybe it'll be like Cornball Express- Very little hype, very little rumors, then WHAM! Great ride, just plain awesome, but not too many people see it.
Yeah, right . It's already got lots of hype and rumors, but the screenshot didn't look too much different. Maybe it'll be a disappointment, but, I doubt it will be. SFGadvKing, you're one of the few to see the alpha version, is it as good as www.rcdb.com?

sorr to say, but when i saw it, it didnt even come close to rcdb. it had pretty much all the coasters, but when you click on them almost none of them had pictures and only most of them had some stats. rcdb is and will always be the best coaster databse.

The site will follow a similar layout to the RadicalZoo Community, but will have many more features which are still classified at this time. ;) We're working feverishly to get it up, and we promise that when it launches, you will not be disappointed.
