| | | Living Sacrifice Hullo peeps. Does anyone here listen to the band Living Sacrifice? Metalcore at its finest IMO. Anyway, they have 5 cds out, with the newest being The Hammering Process, and a new one on the way. LS is a "Christian band", but there newer stuff isn't really "preachy" or anything. If you aren't into Christian stuff, you might wanna just stick to there newer stuff. Anyways, what's your favorite LS song? I really like Perfect, but Burn the End, Hand of the Dead, and Bloodwork are right up there too. I can't wait until "Concieved in Fire" hits the shelves, I hear it will be September. Anyways, what do you guys think about this band? |

| | | Their website is www.livingsacrifice.com . If you want to download stuff, you can get it pretty much anywhere.... Songs I'd recommend getting are Bloodwork, Hand of the Dead, Hidden, and Perfect. Pretty much anything from "The Hammering Process" (their newest cd) is awesome. Also, the song Burn the End is good. It starts off a little slow, but picks up into a pretty cool song. I'd have to say that Hand of the Dead is probably the best though.
BTW Slipknot, I had a feeling you'd reply ;) . hehe. LS is proof that there is good Christian metal!!! :D heh. |

| | | I've heard a little bit of Living Sacrifice, and I must say that they are a great band. If you like them, you may want to check out God Forbid, they're similar and another very good metalcore band (oh, and Hatebreed, but everyone knows about them these days). Anyway, there are a lot of good Christian metal bands out there, some aren't necessarily Christian the way one may think, but take Zao for instance, they don't put a lot of religion in their music, but they are all Christians (or were, I believe they broke up recently), but still Zao was a great band. Also Soulfly, I've heard some stuff off of their new album, and it brings back memories of Sepultura's Chaos AD and even Arise to me, and Max and the rest of the guys are Christian or at least relgious. Also, there's the actual bands that are Christian, like Mortification, who's as heavy as just about any death metal band out there, and their lead singer is a pastor. Also, it's actually good death metal, I know it sounds wrong, but it's actually complicated rhythems and such. To me, it's the music that matters, not the religion behind it. |

| | | I actually saw them live on the Kings of the Game Tour (Winter 2000). I wasn't thoroughly impressed, but I'm really not much of a metal fan. The one thing I really remember about LS is that one of their drummers wore a bandanna over his face and broke about 3 cymbals and 10 sticks throughout the set. I could see how a metalcore fan would really like them, but it wasn't really my style.

| | | Hey, HisDougness. I saw LS on the "Your New Empire Tour" with Project 86 back in May. The drummer (Lance Garvin) wore a bandana over his face also. I guess that's his trademark. I don't remember if he broke any cymbals or sticks then, but I'm sure that he did brake some sticks. :) The way he was playing, I would be surprised if he didn't! lol. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
