Nitro__, Nitro__, Nitro__, Nitro__

I was just browsing through the members list in the N section looking for a member when I just realized something.

The ride name 'Nitro' appears in more member names than any other ride title. And where are majority of all these members from? Just look at their profile location and you wouldn't be surprised. ;)

That reinstates the power of the New Jersey fan-boy curse...

That doesn't mean they're fanboy's. I am from Jersey and I don't even think Nitro is that great. I would be shot by fellow fanboys if I said I was one. So I don't think it's fair to call people fanboys because they like a certain coaster, or are from a certain area.

That means nothing. So everyone who has a coaster in their name is a fanboy of that particular park. New Jersey is a highly populated area. It just means that more people are on this boaurd because more people live in that part of the country.

Yeah, but how many of them are regular posters? I don't see a lot of them on the boards all the time. Plus, if you are new to the coaster thing, (as most new posters are) then what do you know? Oh yeah, you know your home park. So you pick a name from your home park, because that is all you know. That is probably the biggest reason...

I live in NJ and go to SFGADV a lot. Personally I don't think Nitro would be on my top 25 coasters. i think it's just a cool name with power behind it. What would you rather be called, the sky princess or NITRO:devil: I know I would respect NITRO a lot more.

I don't think naming yourself Nitro is very fanboyish. If it's your favorite coaster, then let it be a form of self expression. The reason there are a lot of people with Nitro names is because: 1. There are a lot of people in New Jersey, and 2. Nitro is an excellent coaster. My definition of a fanboy is someone who deliberately praises their park as the best or better than another without reason, or declares the other park worthless without reason. Now if someone were to name themselves "NITROisBETTERthanHULK" without reason, that that could qualify as fanboy behavior.

yeah, i agree with you, rebel2000. look at the highest posters. from #1-#11 there is medusa, kraken, raptor, and drachenfire. does that mean those people are fanboys of those rides, probably not, it means they like those rides. mostly everyone on this board has something in their name that has to do with a coaster or park, so what if a lot of people chose nitro, nitro is a great ride.

I don't think anyone would be suprised to know where these people came from. As everyone said before, this does not make them fanboys. ALso, a lot of people picks names on these boards because of the coasters they've been hearing about too. I stupidly chose RiddRevenger because I heard about how RRV is like coaster perfection. I hadn't even ridden it yet. These Nitros might have done the same thing.
