Transformers

Just wondering if any of you are Transforners fans? More specifically the original generation 1 transformers - both cartoons and toys.

My brother has every episode of the show (including some in japanese) and almost every toy.

Yes, I use to love to watch that show and the toys, but not just gen. 1, I loved them all.

I loved the original. I don't think I had any Autobots and I had three Decepticons. I had the two tapes that fly out of the robot cassete machine (something I wanted). I also wanted Optimus Prime, but never got him. I also had on of the fighter jets (decepticon) as well.

I have the movie on DVD, and I still have about 12 Transformers(Gen 1) still in my possesion. Then newer generation and the cartoon, just does not do anything for me. Long live the generation 1 show and action figures.

Man, I wish I would have kept those old toys of mine (transformers, GI Joe, etc.). They could have been worth big bucks now!

You're quite right about the big bucks....just look on ebay for the prices that some of the gen 1 toys are getting. My brother has spent thousands in the last two years or so trying to complete his collection.

When I was in 6th grade, I urged my parents to buy me at least one Transformers toy. Normally I could ask for something as a token of reward for getting good grade every year (I had been always 1st in my class in elementary).

Instead, my mom offer me a choice, an encyclopedia or the toy. Although I was a kid, but I had also big plans for the future, so I can't resist the former.

So, therefore I never have a Transformers toy.

I loved the show, and the toys were great too, although I can't find them anymore! Those were some great times though.

Try eBay, intamin. I bet you someone is willing to sell transformers (and for a hefty price).

Biggest mystery among the Transformers... how did Megatron go from a hulking 30 foot tall robot to a 8 inch long hand held gun?

The same can be asked for many transformers.....soundwave, blaster, any of the tapes, shockwave.....i think the changing of size was the least questionable aspect of the cartoon.

I don't think an 8 year old would question that..........

It's same with "why don't the underpants of Hulk got ripped while all his clothes were torn apart", or "why don't the hairs of Superman got messed at high speed flight?"

I used to watch it all of the time, and I had something like 15 toys. My favorite was Grimlock, the dinosaur. Both a cool robot, AND a Dinosaur, and a T-Rex at that. You can't beat that when you're a kid :)
