Wrestlemania is going to be in Seattle on March 30, 2003. I wish I could go to but may be next year is any one going to it this year?

nope... not from anywhere around seattle. I havent watched in a long time untill recently, but thats for one reason.... i like many others was dissapointed in last years wrestlemania event. The "HOGAN VS ROCK" was way too over hyped, and a horrible match. I mean it was just a bunch of chest slaps. Nothing at all to it, no technical moves, submissions or anything. A very boring match for a Wrestlemania Main Event. Im very afraid that their rematch at NWO is going to be a lot of the same.... and BROCK as Wrestlemania.... what a load of crap. He is by no means a headliner, nor does he deserve to be one. He's been in the company less than a year.... Just my opinion on things.... WWE has reallly declined.

While i will probly watch Wrestlemania 19 only because it is a WRestlemania ,, Wrestling has really started to suck after mcmahon bought out and destroyed WCW, and ECW ,, now theres no variety just the same old WWF crap,, if u watch raw or smackdown 50 percent of the whole show is acting and the other half might be mediocre matches with someone always interfearing, after being a WWF fan for over 12 yearz and it just doesnt interest me anymore.

agreed.... what happend to to the big wcw stars.. they've gotten totally screwed... im talking speciffically about buff bagwell, kevin nash (who was around but gone now) and most of all STING and Lex Luger... also DDP, who was also around for a while.... i loved them, they were my favorites... they've been doin european shows or somethin, why not bring them back home damnit! and ECW, thats just another story!... Mcmahon syas hes a wrestling legend.. indeed he is... he will go down in history as the man who destroyed wrestling.... and made it more coorporate and money greedy, than entertaining...

What you guys DON'T understand is that guys like John Cena, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas (Team Angle), Kurt Angle, The Hurricane, Batista, Brock Lesnar and others are the FUTURE of this industry. In NO WAY did the WWE screw up with Brock. They did not "Goldberg" him like WCW did with Goldberg. If you recall, Goldberg was brought in, ran through all the jobbers, had some big matches, won the US title. Then he defended the title against those jobbers until he fought Scott Hall and Hogan for the belt. Fought more jobbers with the exception of Sting and DDP, then lost the belt in controversial fashion at StarrCade.

Lesnar, on the other hand, has already fought the likes of RVD, Angle, Big Show, Hogan, Rock as well as beating up on smaller yet popular opponents. The people he has wrestled you hear about every week, so Lesnar DOES DESERVE to headline WM.

ECW...WWE is in the process of buying ECW and there are rumors of ECW soon becoming a sperate entity again. XPW and NWA:TNA are WWE's biggest competition.

I do love on how this site, if a wrestling thread is started, it gets bashed mercilessly, but at sixflagsnews, we have about 4 threads dealing with wrestling and the people there have enough common snese to at least CONTRIBUTE to the topic and acknowledge that there is this form of sports entertainment.

i'm not bashing wrestling. I've been a fan for years. I just liked it better when there was major TV competition. I aknowledge in e very way that this is sports entertainment. The competitors are world class athletes. They are in wonderful shape, and well though a lot of it is fake, they still beat the hell out of themselves night after night.... it takes guts and athletic ability. I respect them. I just think that the WWE is past their prime. They need to make some major changes to turn things around again... like how bout better writers! again... this is just one mans opinion....

Ok, better writers is a possibility. Some story lines were just horrible last year. Remember the HHH/Kane story around No Mercy?

I knew wrestling was fake when my cousin showed me Hogan getting opened up by a chair (mid 80s) and by match end no blood. A lot more of the superstars are going the Indy route or coming up through college. Lesnar, Benjamin, Haas all have come through college and Angle even wrestled in the Olympics.

having NO competition sucks and it basically has killed wrestling,, i heard about XPW but i havent seen it on national tv, now, i remember switching channels between RAw and Nitro for the whole 2 hours they were on ,, now its just lame ,, i dont care if its fake , like i said before ive been a fan for 12 years, and when it just pisses me off that the matches are mediocre and always end up with someone interfearing, or just the same old predictable stuff,

So what would be the same old predictable stuff? I doubt you can be predictable in a TLC match, Ladder match, 6+ man tag team match, etc.

NWA:TNA is on PPV and their recap show is on some independent channel as well. XPW is located in the old ECW arena.

Flipping between Raw and Nitro was fun. TOugh to decide which to tape.

Keeping with topic, the main event may change at Mania. Sources are saying that it will be Rock and Austin main eventing which means Angle/Brock being lower on the card.

Well your typical ladder match is about 20 minutes of non stop action where u see guyz on a ladder waiting for the other guy to get up and throw him off the ladder,, its so funny watching them go so slow,, i know they are tired but come on now , your typical tag match is 1 guy gets isolated,, for like half the match and getz whipped then he finally makes it to his corner and the guy starts beatin the other 2 guyz asses until he wears down, then they beat him down , till the other guy gets back up then 2 of them go outside and fight,, while they go at it 1v1 then 1 of the partners come in and they do their finisher,, but nowadays some1 comes in with a chair and its over,, lol,,

i've said it before, i'll say it again.... Vince Mcmahon ruined wrestling when he bought the other companies.... he ruined the competition, and the fun of watching which company has the best storylines and the talent... hwile i think stone cold was good, WCW had the better headliners, and they have since dissapeared.... Sting, Lex Leuger, DDP, and Buff Bagwell... amazing talent now going to waste.
Also, what happend to the Living Legend Larry Zabysko? or Mean Gene Oakerland? They were great. Larry was an a wesome announcer and i know WWE has no intention of losing JR or King, but seriously... i'd rather see Zabysko calling smackdown, and TAZZ back in the ring... I miss TAZZ!

Mean Gene is on WWE Confidential. Zybysko sucks...the Coach calls better matches. Brain needs to sit back at the announce table. WCW had all the rejects from WWE. PLUS, during their downfall, wrestlers did not know what the storyline would be til even minutes before the show. It was very disorganized.

FYI, The Road to Wrestlemania comes through Cleveland on Monday March 10th for WWE Monday Night Raw. I have tickets.

Haven't watched wrestling in a long, long time, because they rarely if ever even wrestle anymore. Lots of big moves, but little wrestling, and I wonder how many of those guys could actually wrestle if their lives depended on it (Angle and Benoit being notable exceptions)

I miss the old NWA/ WCW days, back when the real 4 Horsemen ruled the squared circle.

As for Sting's current whereabouts, he was just waiting out the end of his contract with WCW before retiring as he had lost most interest in the "sport", and the WWE buying them out just allowed him to do that all the quicker. Don't expect to see him back for a long, long time if ever.

Career match, Vinnie Mac vs Hogan should be good. Though these are two 50 yr olds in the ring (Vince is 57, Hulk is 50) both are in good shape.

WWE Title: Angle(c) vs Lesnar. Expect the best. This will be a good match.
WWE Womens: Victoria(c) vs Jazz vs Trish. I want Stratusfaction.
World Tag Team: Chief Morley/Lance Storm(c) vs RVD/Kane. Should be really good. Never know what to expect from Mr. PPV, RVD.
World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H(c) vs Booker T. SHould be a good match and I expect to see another WM Spinaroonie!
Austin vs Rock. Prob the main event. Expect nothing less than the best.
HBK vs Y2J. Showstopper vs the Ayatollah. As I said, expect the best.
WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Angle(c) vs Los Guerros vs Rhyno/Benoit. Haas/Benjamin (Team Angle) have been very impressive so far. Eddie and Chavo are hilarious in the ring. Rhyno is a beast and if he gores you THEN you feel the wrath of the Crippler...
WWE Cruiserweight: Rey Mysterio vs Matt Hardy version 1. HSould be a highflying match...619 is sweet.
Undertaker and Nathan Jones vs. A-Train and Big Show. Keep in mind, Undertaker has never lost a Wrestlemania match. His Win by DQ only occured at WM IX.

By the way...I will not go to a RAW event until the specific program improves. Less talking, more wrestling, PLEASE. Smackdown rocks and draws bigger crowds, but has less top name talent. They must be doing something right.

I think the WWF... sorry WWE was better wehn there were only 4 PPV's a year (Royal Rumble,WrestleMania,Summer Slam,Survivor Series). Now that there are one a month, story lines change too much,too often. You miss a few shows and you're lost. I remember in the late 80's and early 90's, a feud would go on for months. You could miss a few weeks and then come back and be able to pick right where you left off within a few minutes. I also hate too that there are so many new guys coming in all the time. I think some of the older guys get pushed out too soon or worse - become borderline jobbers. One mistake I think WCW made and I think WWE is amking now is that they don't give storylines a chance to go it's route before deciding it's not working. I remember the last year of WCW, they would change things from week to week and it ended up making no sense. For me wrestling will never be as good as it was when I was younger. Back then, you could get a bunch of your friends from school over to watch and that alone always made it better. Now with everyone having different scedules and changing interests, it's nearly impossible to get people together to watch. But I'll always have my memories of the "good ole' days" when I was a Hulkamaniac!!!
