Les Misérables

I just got back from watching Les Misérables and I must say it was a very good show. I was a little disappointed because some of my friends said it was spectacular. The story was pretty good, but I was most impressed with the set design! It was amazing! The whole thing is on this rotating platform so it kinda plays out like a movie when people walk. It's hard to explain, you just have to watch it. I liked the guy falling off the bridge and the sewer sets, too. I'd give it a B.

Has anyone else seen it? If so, tell us about it!

I have seen it twice, I have the 10th Anniversary of Les Mis on tape as well as the Broadway soundtrack.

Until I see Phantom, this ranks the highest.

Storyline was great. Music, song and dance were great. Then again, I had the privelege of listening to the soundtrack prior to seeing the show. It is a must see for anyone who thinks Phantom is good.

Amongst favorite scenes was Javert's suicide. Jean Valjean at the end until the chorus breaks in with One Day More. One Day More was good, Thenardiers were hilarious. You need comedy and they deliver.

I LOVE Les Miz. I've seen it only twice, but ones was second row, and it was amazing. It makes me cry like a little baby, but hey, its amazing, its worth it.

I'm so upset that it's closing on broadway :( But its been around for awhile, time to give someone else a chance I guess.

My favorite parts, being an incrediby girlie-girl, were Eponine's songs, "On My Own" and "A Little Fall of Rain". I cry every time. "Master of the House" and "Drink With Me" (?).

I think that Phantom was overrated, but thats just me.

I can't wait to see Movin Out, Rent (for the 6th time), and I've heard 42nd street was amazing.

I've only seen two plays, both on Broadway. They were Lion King and Annie Get Your Gun (with Reba McEntire). I thought both were astounding. If I ever go back to NYC, I'll definately check out some more broadway plays.

I'm seeing Lion King with my whole school when it comes to Chicago this spring and summer. I'm glad to hear somebody closer to my age something good about it because I don't trust my music teacher telling me how great it is.

Chip---I know this is offtopic but since you live in Tuscon do you ever catch any of the spring training games going on there? Or are you not into baseball? I'd love to be in Tuscon right now watching the White Sox.

Back on topic...I saw Chicago on Broadway. Strange that I went from Chicago to New York to see Chicago. I'm not into musicals much but it was pretty good. I still haven't seen the movie.

I hear Rent is really good too. Beauty and the Beast is rumored to be good. My sister has hit Toronto for Phantom twice, then also Sunset Boulevard, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast.

Les Mis is my favourite show of all, I've seen quite a few in London. Rent is very good, and if you want somethign more light hearted, Mama MIA is a great fun show to see.

I heard an ad on the radio for the Music Man. That really sounds good too. Hair sounds interesting.

Les Miz... try reading the book. The stage show is just a prostituted version of ****en's work for people who can't handle long sentences.

Yeah pretty much. I'm also glad that "****ens" was also starred-out. Ha ha ha.
