Pounding the streets

I just thought I'd see if there were any other runners out there? I'm training for the London Marathon this year and just finished my first half marathon yesterday.

Anybody else run for fun or a member of any clubs? If so I'd love to hear your distances and times.

Yeah Steve, over here. I run Cross Country for my High Schoo, we are pretty good. The coach makes us do a few like fun runs and what not, but I'm there so I do it for fitness, and to do a high school sport etc. The first week I almost like passed out at practice, then once I got used to it.

The cool thing is that now I can BLAZE all you punks to Top Thrill Dragsta, ally ou short distance sprinters will get winded, and I'll be goin strong, you'll see me on the first train ;)

I'd like to run more. But Im a busy person, and do you know how hard it is to wake up at 5:30 when you usually go to sleep at 12 or 1?

Yep I do the same most days. I usually end up going to bed at around midnight and am up every morning between 5:30am and 6:00am. Yes it's hard but not an excuse.

;)

I was once a runner in middle school. I did both cross country and track, and my fastest mile time (don't laugh, it was 6th grade) was 6:05 minutes. I'm thinking about trying to run this summer so I can stay in shape for swimming. I don't really enjoy running anymore though, so I'll see how it turns out.

Hey Steve -

I started running in January 2002. My goal was to run the NYC Marathon, but I never fulfilled that ambition. I never was much of a runner before. I had reached a personal best of 15 miles before deciding I wasn't cut out for marathon running.

But all was not lost, over a year later and I still run 3 to 5 miles every night!

Atrace you swim? thats cool! I do it too. I currently swim for my High School (TL). So far it's been going well, I'm 15 this swimming season so I got way more events I can try. My best stroke is Backstroke so I am going to try the 100 back. Speaking of swimming I got a meet this Friday, oh boy.

I wish I wasn't too lazy to run. I really should get in shape, but I'm honestly just too lazy. Just like slipknot, my running abbilities are limited to the running of the bulls to get to SUF before anyone else.

That's great though! I was really hoping to get into the London Marathon this year but no luck. I'd love to do the NYC one, we can get charity places here so maybe...

Deffinately going to do London next year though.

Well, i've decided that i like cycling more than running. I did 7.5 miles today in about 30 minutes. I'll probably do that Texas MS150 next year, which is the largest MS150 in the country.

I absolutely hate running. I find it really boring and no fun at all. I would much rather do cycling because I think it is more fun.

I ran a 19:25.7 in a 5K race once, they're pretty fun to do. Some of the XC courses I ran on were very interesting.
