Macafee or Norton?

Which of these 2 Anti-Virus software packages is better? Which can delete viruses and detect them faster or better?

I'd go with norton, but i don't know much about computers, all i know is that norton seemed to work better on my computer. Get a computer person for a better opinion though.

Norton definately. I did a free trial for Mcafee and now it won't stop asking me if I want to buy the real version. It's so annoying!

Norton is not only easier to use, but it's also had a history of stability. McAfee I have had tons of problems with (my dad got their security suite... I said I won't support it because of that, and sure enough, he's having problems with it.

I have had both and for what is better I dont really see a difference. i am also not a real computer tyoe person to know the difference. All i know from using both is that they both prevent viriuses. I would also agree with the above that norton is easier but I have not had any problems with Mcafee.

Honestly I don't have either right now(I back up my important files on a second HDD and a reformat can fix any problems I have) But I had Norton about a year and a half ago and McAfee about two years ago. I liked Norton better but I haven't used either in a while.

Norton. I have it, but some of the things that come with it are overdone. Like the "CPU CHECKER" that constantly checks CPU speed and such. Be sure to do custom install. Norton DOES get the job done, and there will allways be downloads for it if a new bug somehow comes up, but you gotta have the software to kill it.

Norton came with this computer. I have used computers with Macafee but they were not connected to the net thus making virus protection a little hard to use. I like Norton. Only had one virus, but that is one too many.

OK. I upgraded to Norton 2003. I've only had 2 viruses on my computer, but as CP_Mark said, 1 (2) is 1 (2) too many.:D

Since I've used Norton, it detects many viruses, but they catch them before they even have a chance to get on my computer, or if we run a program... it scans before it runs, and if it sees a virus, it halts the computer and says there's a virus, then makes an attempt to remove it. It comes in very handy.
