Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

There may be some minor spoilers here, but nothing that would ruin the movie.

Although James Cameron is still God, I felt that Mostow pulled off a worthy job on T3.
I have only seen bits and pieces of Terminator, and have seen T2 a couple of times, I would say that T3 is about even (or at the very least approaching) the greatness of T2. It did lack some of the emotion of T2, but it made up for it with jacked-up tension and action. The characters weren't perfect, but they were developed adequatelyfor the requirements of the movie.
One thing I did miss is any memorable lines from the Terminator. There was nothing even approaching "I'll be back" or "Hasta la vista, baby". The few lines he did say came off sounding cheesy or forced. (I lost count of how many times he yelled "get off" or something to that effect). The T-X however was excellent. Some more nude shots of her would have been (greatly) appreciated, but I still thought she had a nice, evil screen presence.
The story was better than I expected, although it was still mostly a premise with which to create the stunning action scenes. But hey, at least it realized this and didn't waste time on boring, pointless and overly elaborate plot developements (Reloaded). It was simple enough not to slow the pacing down, but developed enough to build tension. The pacing reminded me of Aliens (after the crew arrived on the planet) with riveting, non-stop action, albeit without the emotional subtexts between Ripley and Newt.
The ending was excellent, quite ballsy when compared to most movies coming out these days. The only gripe with it I had is that now they have to make a T4. Sure, I will be seeing it on opening night, but I just think the series should have been kept to a trilogy, to avoid any furute dissappointments (*cough* Alien 3 and Resurrection).
Overall I would reccomend this movie to just about anyone, whether they have seen the first two or not.

I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was pretty good, I was kind of suprised. Although I thought it was good, it still doesn't compare to how good T2 was. But I thought the action was great and the T-X was very cool, I'd reccomend it.

T-X wasn;t played by Charlize Theron... Her name was Kristina Loken (Or Kastana... or something like that)

i saw it wednesday. It was pretty good. Its different from the others. I didn't like how there was no real emotional attachment between john conner and terminator. But the action scenes were great. Its worth seeing

Man, I haven't seen the first two in years. I'll have to rent them before I go and see T3 so I can remember what happens. All I know is that he came back....

TG, it's Kristanna (one 'n' or two?). I liked the movie, but I not as much as T2. I wish it just would have ended the entire thing, but no, now there has to be another. I just wonder how long it'll take for that one to come out. Go see it if you haven't yet.

I'm hoping to see it today. It has been getting great reviews from what I've seen.

it isn't mandatory, the only thing you'll miss is a couple inside jokes. Abnd maybe you should know that judgement day is the day that the machines take over the world. In T2, John Connor and his mom Sarah, along with the Terminator (who was sent back in time to help John becuase Joh becomes the leader of the resistance against the machines in the future) destroyed the company responsible for the "rise of the machines", therefore stopping judgement day(?). Knowing that you should be set.

I liked it, but it was pretty much one big chase scene throughout the whole movie. There was almost no dialogue, and watching the terminators fight gets repetitive after a while. I would say it is a better than average action film.

If T3 is a fraction as good as T2 than it will be worth watching. T2 is easily in my top 10 action movies list. (I havn't actually made one, but it would be there)

I saw T3 on Tuesday and liked it so much that I went out and rented T1 and T2. I had not seen them at the time. Maybe it was because I saw T3 first but I liked T3 much more than T2. I think most people would disagree with me though. T1 was also very good even though it is almost 20 years old.

I just came back from the movie, found this thread in the new posts search, and I must say it did not disappoint. I found it to be better than the previous two.

TX was just amazing. It put the T-1000 to shame.
