| | | No more Hope... Entertainer/Comedian Bob Hope died late last night of pneumonia in his home in Toluca Lake. He will surely be missed...

| | | Yea. The price is right was a cool show that he did. He was pretty funny. He made it to triple digits though. Big 100. |

| | | Price is Right is hosted by Bob Barker, not Bob Hope.

| | | lol, bob barker isnt nearly 100 years old. i dont think it will affect most of us on this board because he wasnt during our time. he was in like the 50's and 60's, that was WAY before my time and i dont think i've ever seen any of his stuff.

| | | He isn't? He sure as hell looks it. And he's been doing The Price Is Right since the 60s. I guess if he started in his early 20s, he'd be in his 80s now.

| | | Ok, a little basic math is in order. If he was in his 20's in the 1963...and it has been 40 years since 1963...that would put him around 60-something, not 80-something.
In any event, I think I read that he is about 70.
How many of you are old enough to remember Bob Hope doing one of his specials for the troops? (Not just seeing it on tape after the fact.)

| | | Bob Barker will be 80 on December 12. http://us.imdb.com/Name?Barker,+Bob
As for Bob Hope, it is a shame that such a great performer had to pass away. He is to be respected for the things that he has done for our country. |

| | | I saw some of his films once. He was an extremely funny man and a comedic legend, and he will be missed.
"Thanks for the memory
Of candlelight and wine, castles on the Rhine
The Parthenon and moments on the Hudson River Line
How lovely it was!
Thanks for the memory
Of rainy afternoons, swingy Harlem tunes
And motor trips and burning lips and burning toast and prunes
How lovely it was!
Many's the time that we feasted
And many's the time that we fasted
Oh, well, it was swell while it lasted
We did have fun and no harm done
And thanks for the memory
Of sunburns at the shore, nights in Singapore
You might have been a headache but you never were a bore
So thank you so much.
Thanks for the memory
Of sentimental verse, nothing in my purse
And chuckles when the preacher said "For better or for worse"
How lovely it was
Thanks for the memory
Of lingerie with lace, Pilsner by the case
And how I jumped the day you trumped my one-and-only ace
How lovely it was!
We said goodbye with a highball
Then I got as "high" as a steeple
But we were intelligent people
No tears, no fuss, Hooray! For us
So, thanks for the memory
And strictly entre-nous, darling how are you?
And how are all the little dreams that never did come true?
Aw'flly glad I met you, cheerio, and toodle-oo
And thank you so much."
I couldn't resist. Someone was bound to post it sooner or later.
