| | | Too much Cedar Point??? I was parosing the thread titles today at the Roller Coaster section of the forum and i would say a good 40% are about this park...why? i mean it is a good park but only like 4% of the coasters in the US are at that particular park. I feel as if in the enthusiast circles CP is trendy.

| | | The reason behind it is that since it's one of the few parks that every enthusiast trys to get to at least once. When you have a lot of people who been to the same place, than most people can talk about it.

| | | Yea, CP is the #1 amusement park in the world, and one of the most visited by people on this site. Its hard not to talk about a amusement park with 4 coasters over 200 feet tall, and one that is the tallest in the world. Have you even been on MF or TTD VomitComet?
BTW, would you rather have a few people talking about some amusement park not many people have been on, or a place most people have been to or want to go to. |

| | | Hes for SFMM.;) j/k CP is a really good park and people enjoy it. World class coasters. The park has broken so many new records and set new levels. Thats why people love it and talk about it so much. |

| | | Interesting thought. I guess because it is such a Coaster Enthusiast talked about park. Also, this year was a high year for Cedar Point. (None of it's competitors added anything as spectacular as TTD). I would say if everyone was here during 2000, it would be the same for Millennium Force. I'm sure there we're a dozen of threads for X in 2001. It all depends on the year.

| | | millenium force was a huge thing in these forums. i don't know if X was that big, i don't remember seeing to much stuff about it... i may be wrong.
lets keep this a cp thread and not a cp vs. sfmm. but i admit those are real fun.

| | | Cedar Point is the coaster mecca. Where else can you find coasters that were once record breakers (World's tallest: Gemini - 1978, Magnum - 1989, MF - 2000, TTD - 2003), B&Ms that were the best of its kind when they came out, Wicked Twister (tallest impulse of its kind), Mean Streak was once the tallest woodie (though it's a love-hate relationship with that ride now), plus you can't beat the # of coasters (16) and the # of rides total (68) in an amusement park.
Having worked there in 02, it only helped me understand more how much enthusaists love the park and understand what it takes to be such a draw. I can't get enough of it, and neither can many of the employees that I worked with. |

| | | People are always going for the first time so they always wanna say how great it is and how awesome the new ride is. It is a coaster paradise.

| | | Get the answer you were looking for VomitComet? As you can see, no park can compete with CP in terms of the awe that it instills in you whether you have a season pass or have been there only once. |

You probably weren't here when the boards were bombarded with X this X that. X was spotlight X 2 (no pun intended) compared to Millennium Force because of its awkward never-before seen design. |

| | | Well, honestly, there couldn't have been that much MF stuff since it opened about a year before this site was started.
Anyway, I remember that there were tons of stuff about SFMM last summer when X was having trouble. That was the spot light ride of last summer. This summer, it's TTD, making CP the spotlight park. Everyone's so much as forgotten about it, but in a year or two when they make something huge, they'll once again be on top. For all we know, the next huge ride next year might be at Kennywood park, and there'll be loads of Kennywood threads.

| | | I remember discussing MF at this site or atleast its predeccessor (sp). This site is one of the main reasons I decided to go to Cedar Point for the 1st time in 2000 and I have been there many times since. I guess CP has spoiled me as I went to SFGam on Tuesday and I left at 7:30 due to being bored (of course I was with my son and he is only 51 and a half inches and he couldn't get on most of the coasters). I have never left a park due to being bored.

| | | Yes i have been to Cedar Point, it was there 3 weeks ago. I have Ridden TTD AND MF. They kicked arse. The rest of the park save Raptor and Blue Streak wasnt as good as I had hoped, the old rides were not so good, I just feel like there are many better parks and rides out there.
