Manny Ramirez placed on waivers!

http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb_news.jsp?ymd=20031030&content_id=596583&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Any team who wants to pay him $20,000,000 a year can pick him up. They have until this afternoon to do it.

Very interesting, if they lose Ramirez, this kills Boston's chances at a postseason appearence next year.

Also interesting, the Orioles announced today that they're interviewing Grady Little today for a manager's job. The Orioles need a #4 hitter. This would be a great duo to add to the team.

Sh!t! Ramirez hit 37 HR and batted .325 this year. If I had 20 million, I'd buy him and build a baseball league around him.

This is true, somewhat. I don't know about these mental lapses, but maybe the Orioles should think twice. I remember the last Ex-Indian we picked up during the offseason.

Albert Belle.

That probably wont effect them much.... I think the Red Sox will never win the World Series.... They have blown it every year for....(big number) They should just get some really good players....

This probably IS the best hitter in baseball right now. You can't go get some really good ones and place your best on waivers. I also see that Garciaparra and Martinez are free agents next year.

Do you think they may be rebuilding?

manny ramirez is NOT the best hitter in baseball right now. i personally think albert pujols is the best but still, theres pujols, bonds, arod, giambi, sosa, and many more that are better or just as good as ramirez is. back in his 165 RBI days, he could be the best but now hes just 100-110 rbis a year. it least the yankees said they dont want him. (because they're probably going to get sheffield or vlad)

Pujols - maybe someday, Giambi - possibly, but Bonds and Sosa? Have you been hanging out with coasterphil again?

I was at an Indians game back when Manny was still in town and the Cleveland Air Show was going on that same day. The Blue Angels were flying directly over Jacobs Field. I looked out into right field and Manny was staring up at the planes....WHILE THE GAME WAS GOING ON!

Let Boston keep him.

Manny and Pujols are the two hottest hitters in the league.

Boston is falling apart. First letting go of Little, big mistake, and now Manny might be going. I don't like Boston's chances next year.

uhhh...leeloo, do you have any idea what your talking about?

manny 2003 - 37 hr, 104 rbi, .325 avg
pujols 2003 - 43 hr, 124 rbi, .359 avg

after only 3 years pujols has a .334 avg, avged 38 homers, and avged 127 rbis. after 15 more years pujols will be one of the best players ever to play the game, up there with mantle, mays, aaron, and ruth,

Pujols is in an easier division than Ramirez. Ramirez also gets pitched around more. Pujols doesn't face pitching like Ramirez does.

You have been hanging out with coasterphil. Do you think Kerry Wood is more accomplished than Randy Johnson?

By the way, no one picked up Ramirez. Still on the BoSox.

Nope I haven't been hanging out with sfgadvking, so I don't know where he got those ideas.

Cubs are still the best team, and Prior and Wood 0wn all other pitchers.

I would have to agree with LeeLoo here.

It looks like the BoSox might look to rebuild after this season. It's a good opportunity should they decide to.
