Whats wrong with my eyes?

I tihnk I need to be admitted to the psycho ward or something. My eye doctor said not to worry about it but it's weird. Anywho...

Sometimes when I stare and a screen or a piece of paper or something, a little semi-transparent grey ball appears and follows the exact same path everytime I see it. It goes from about 3 inches of the middle of whatever I'm staring at, and falls in an arch pattern and then disappears.

Sometimes the exact same thing happens with a grey transparent thread that I could draw because it always has the exact same shape.

Seriously, this must be kinda common amoung people with terrible vision if I'm not supposed to worry about it. What's wrong with me?

Doing any drugs?

No seriously, that can mess you up so bad. Check an make sure ;).

But actually, the human eyes get strange at times. I get little dots here and there when I stop doing intense running or swimming. Are you lightheaded when you look at the paper?

That's just trippy.

Remember, no drugs.

Marijuana won't mess you up. It actually is very theraputical... Read the book "The emperor wears no clothes" if you wanna find out what i mean. I have this happen to me every once in a while too, i dont know what it is but i think it's cool. You shouldn't worry about it and get on with your coaster riding life.

You might have something called a stigmatism in one eye. I have that. Maybe get a second opinion if it really bothers you.

Fanramones, quit contacting me.

But acid will. If you've ever done acid, that stuff can come back and haunt you years later. I've got a friend who said she's done acid and she still sees weird things sometimes. What she describes sounds like what you're describing, but you say you're clean.

If your eye doctor said not to worry about it, that's cool.

As for the thing on your eye, That's rather odd. I have no medical experience. Btw, remember that old thread about the guy on here who said he could diagnose you even though he was like 14? I'm sure he knows.

edit: Found it. I'm sure ryan can help out ;) http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26135&highlight=medical

I, too, have had these. They are called "floaters". A tiny blood vessel on the retina (back) of your eye broke and some blood leaked out. These floaters will eventually be pulled down by gravity and will not be bouncing around inside of your eye forever. However, new ones could develop over the years. That is why a yearly vision exam is good to get.

I have also had to have lazer surgery in my left eye to stop a blood vessel from leaking. It was a bad leak - looked like bugs crawling around everywhere I looked. The surgery was not painful at all. It took about 20 minutes and, in three days, my vision was back to normal. I have not had any reoccurences of this problem, nor has it affected my eyesight in any way.

And no - I have never taken drugs, smoked, or drank. I know - it sounds boring, but MY vice is food!

Yah I got that too. Though I usually don't see a grey ball. I see particles or whatever that vary in shape, size, and even color. I've experienced them for a long time and I found that if you move your head down in the direction the ball is falling, you can follow it's path until you can't turn your head anymore. It could just be a mental thing because I can stop the ball sometimes and make it go in the direction it came from until it disappears going up, though I have never been able to put a curve it's path. Then again, this could be all because of the unknown drug I took.

i've had this, sounds like yours is quite mild though; its reasuring i'm not the only one! I have several though, although they seem to have dissappeared recntly...i went for all kinds of eyescans - nothing was found.

Don't know what your expierence is, but although i have many at once (3 or 4 each eye, some up to 3-4cm across (in appearence to me anyway)) i only see them against plain, bright backgrounds - white paper, the sky in daylight, wheres theres lots of green (woods). On multicoloured background (most of the time) i don't notice them.

^what was said above ^ about you can follow it even if you move your head, i know what you mean. its anoying because you can't "shake" it off.

for me they have lasted about 3 years - a long time. Seriously coasterkid if your worried PM me, its not a nice expiernece i know. just be reasurred if you go for frequent exam. it'll almost certainly not be a problem.

I get something similar also, it's part of my "auras" that prelude a migraine, secondary to excessive caffeine ingestion. I also get numbness, difficulty speaking, gait problems, etc.

But, I agree with Phil. If your doctor said don't worry about it, then don't worry about it.
