I'm lovin' it!

Well, if you have watched TV latley, you have proabobly seen McDonalds new ad campaign, "I'm Lovin' it". If you have seen it, you can discuss your thoughts here.

Now, I know you are all like "why are you posting about Mcdonalds?" Well, it's a interesting ad campaign if you ask me.

The ad campaign, if you have seen it, looks like it is a clear attempt to apply to todays youth and teens. Well, I don't know about you guys, but it really doesn't apply to me, or anyone around my age group. The commercials have people in shopping carts pushing eachother, with some sort of McDonalds treat in their hand. Theres also one with a guy with fries in a moon roof of a limo. Today's Youth? What? I don't know about that one. I typically cannot afford a limo. And if I can afford a limo, why would I go to McDonalds? Also, in every commercial, you will see some teen wearing headphones. I really don't need music while I eat.

While this ad campaign is a clear standout of all fast food chains, the wonder comes into mind, why do you need a ad campaign? Just show the food at like 6 o clock PM, and for sure you'll get my attention if I am watching the TV. It's pretty simple, make the food look unrealistically good. Thats really all you need, not this wierd adcampaign assuming that all teenagers message their buddies on their cell phones, saying to go to McDonalds. Just show me a big ol big mac, and you WILL get my attention if I am hungry.

I didn't figure on typing too much, as it is just a ad campaign, but share your thoughts. I find this ad campaign too much. You don't need a theme, just show the food!

Haha! Those commercials sound really funny, Raptordude. And really unrealistic. I don't even see why McDonald's would have to try to appeal to a younger crowd with this stuff. All they have to do is make an ad saying, "Hey! Go to McDonald's!" People flock to it anyway.

They are pretty terrible and unamusing. Its people jumping around to the beat of some crappy music and a bunch of seemingly unrelated quick scenes of people doing fun things and eating McDonalds. Please, take away the torture and just go back to something less painful.

Amazingly well said. I honestly hate rap, and hate any commerical with rap, or with people in it trying to be a "gangster" (not trying to steriotype here..) but yeah.. It's the truth. I feel these commericals should be stopped because Mc Donalds gets enough business anyways and doesn't even need a commerical.. or better yet... they just need to stop playing them so often. I'm sick of watching a 30 min show that nearly has 5 of these terrible commericals during it's break.

.. and I can sure say for myself that this ad campaign sure doesn't want me to go down to my "rapping" mc donalds.. I can get better food out of my T.V. Dinner from the Grocery Store.

These commercials are truly awful. Even for someone like me who likes rap music. I'll never understand why seeing some random, mostly unconnected clips of various teenagers doing teenagerish things makes me want mcdonalds.

Commercials like that make me not want to go to McDonalds. I personally think the Hardys commercials are more effective. I think it's kindof funny how they go with the "yea we suck, but we're getting better" approach.

Nothing screams 'hip' and 'cool' like a multinational corporation that specializes in mediocre food and service.

Yeah, Mickey D's is the place to be.

McDonald's 2002 net income was about 800 million less than a year prior, they also closed about 75 locations in 2002.

They're really not the cash cow that everyone perceives them to be.

If you want to apeal to a younger crowd there is one thing to know...

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE BROKE!!!

In this country the majority of people under the age of 30, that don't live with their parents, are poor. We want cheap food that doesn't suck. That's why I go to Burger King or Wendy's. I used to go to Taco Bell, but they cost too much now. Yeah I know, sometime McDonalds has meals for 2.99, but last time I checked they sucked...and some even raised their prices.

Drats, beaten. They didn't want anyone talking about how much is sucks.

The funny part is, companies such as McDonalds pay millions upon millions of bucks to advertising firms to think this crap up.

I just don't get it. Those advertisers must have been pretty damn good salesmen to get them to buy that crap and use it for their ads. I don't know anyone who thinks its a good commercial.

I remember the Mc Donalds ad campaign that used the slogan 'Mc Donald’s is growing up.' I remember an ad with a kid appearing to be disgusted comparing it to cauliflower. First of all they added the arch deluxe then three more sandwiches... Next thing I knew, the whole thing disappeared.

I think the whole thing lasted about one summer.

The Arch Delux... I remember that crap. It was supposedly some 'healthy' burger, except it tasted awful.

Arch Deluxe wasn't supposed to be healthy, you might be thinking of the McLean Deluxe. Arch Deluxe was just supposed to have a mature taste, which never made sense to me. Regardless, I thought it was a very tasty burger.

One other thing, McDonalds has 38K restaurants worldwide.

Yeah, the McLean Deluxe was the one I was thinking about. But I remember the Arch Deluxe, too... both of them sucked.

The I'm lovin't thing with the rap is ridiculous. You can tell 40 somethings put that campaign together because it's a perfect example of an old guy (say someone like your 50 year old Dad) trying to be hip/cool. Everyone looks at him like he's a total idiot.

I look at those new McDonald's commericals the same way. They should have stuck to "Food, Folks, and Fun". Oh wait.

it would be more efective if they just put several shots of fries and burgers together followed by the logo. You barely even see their damn food in the new commercials. How are they suposed to attract all those fat people with an ad campiagn based on skinny people being active?

Why don't they just do what Wendy's, Burger King, Arby's, and many other fast-food places do....just show their food, the prices, and maybe even the smiling founder of the company. Apathy is better than pain.

The ideal fast-food marketing scheme right now is Chick-Fil-A's. The Cows are pretty humorous, and they've provided enough spins and varieties of the "Eat Mor Chikin" or whatever instead of the same message beaten into their skulls that people generally aren't annoyed by it.
