Florida time shares!

I was watching the episode of South Park last nigh when the kids parents get "kidnapped" by time shares salsemen on a free sking holiday. It made laugh as it reminded me of my own experiences. Since a very early age my cheap skate parents have abanded me in the kids area to go and get harassed by salesmen.
Only once have we ever got the time shares, and that was in disney. Last time when I was about 11 , i was too big 4 the kiddies area :( so they left me in the hotel, they came back very late, but with tickets 4 island of adventure! (Thats the only time iv bin and must go agen, make mental note) As you could imagine when we got 2 ioa the guy at the gate nagged at us half heartdley to "expand our tikets" so we could go 2 universal studios. Anyway, has this ever happend 2 u?

The pressure pitch gets a lot of people, thats why my parents never accept any of those offers when there is a meeting involved.

Those sorts of deals are all over here -- just come to this little bitty talk and get all this great free stuff... I don't think it's worth the hassle, personally, especially since most of it involves sharing your address and phone number. I have too much junk mail and telemarketing phone calls as it is.

Lucky you, you got abandoned! I had to go with the parents. I actually took part in a time-share the first time I was in Florida (I think I was 8). It was really boring, and we got free tickets to Sea World. Ever since my Dad is so resistant to those timeshare people. Here, in Vancouver, there is a lot of time share stuff for Whistler (#1 Ski Resort in North America). We were offered a time share thing were we would get a free vacation to Disneyland just for attending! I was so exicited (this was this year) and I would have done it without blinking, but my dad hates timeshare people so we never took advantage of it. Curse him!

BTW, the catch to these things is the high pressure sales people. There strategy is to make you so uncomfertable that you'll either buy into their company just to end the presentation, or try to get you intrested during one of their 3-6 hour presentations. If you can live with people trying to shove their products down your throat, you can take advantage of some of the great freebees :)

Yeh when was in Vancouver soemone had tim shares in one of the rooms in 1 of the hotels that they didnt want for a couple of days then. I didnt like it very much, its a really nice place with lots of stuff 2 do, but i went in summer only to find the snow had melted! I was too young to enjoy the nightlife so not a lot to do in the evenings, thw worst bit is at night when you cant get any *****ing sleep because of partyers outside. The second night i was there i had a plan, I threw water bombs at the noisy people below! I will regret it the rest of my life, these boys that got hit got in a mega "benny" as we call it in the UK. The shouted abuse at us all for about an hour and tried to get in the room! Lukily it was one of those hotels where you need your key to use the lift so we where safe, these guys where proper pissed!
During the day the alchol rules are really strict, I got chuked out of this bar because i was under 18, even though i was sitting outside, with my dad, and drinking a coke!
THe best bit has to bw when iwent down that bobsleigh type ride thing! It was great! Like disaster transport but outside with open cars! We went to the top, no snow though, and i wound my family up by preteding 2 jump of the cliffs, iv got a great pic of me hanging off a "Warining: Cliff" with a pretend terrified expresion on my face. Some of the last of the ice had been carved out to make a large ice-slide, that was fun too! A launched drop tower would be amazing at the top of the mountain, great views! Or a hypercoaster that dropped down the various cliffs.

All you need to know is that time shares are bad news. Simple as that.

Kristafon4, I know about everything you're talking about. I would like to point out that you can ski in Whilster until August, so you must have gone late in the summer.
