Yes you should. Most parks do give discounts for ACE members.

I am 15 also and I have been in ACE for two years. I havent had a chance to go to that many events but you get a rollercoaster magazine, thats good enough for me.

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for ACE to send out their products if I orderd something from their website? What happened to the ACE shirt with the giant ACE symbol on the front of it, they dont sell it on their website anymore.

Do it. If anything you'll enjoy the magazines. Check out their Web site for a listing of discounts. You can get into all Paramount parks half off, and lots of other places have discounts on admission.

I've never been with ACE. I kinda felt like it at one point, but I backed out. I just feel like "freelancing" at parks. Going with my friends and such. I'd love to meet new people, but for the most part, I don't have the money or the time. So maybe later on.

I'm a member, and to me it's worth it for the magazine, and the free stuff. I usually only go to one or two events a year, but the stuff you get is worth it. For example, at Eastcoaster this year, we each got a free ticket which can be used at any Paramount park, and a front of the line pass for Cedar Point (good for any ride including TTD). Add to that the posters and fliers from the parks, it's a great haul.

The events are fun...just don't turn into a total ACE fanatic. There are too many people in ACE who are dead ringers for Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons.

You defiantly should join. It’s more then worth it. I joined a few years ago and have had a great time. First off their magazine (Roller Coaster) has great articles and information about coasters around the country. They also publish ACE News ever moth or two which gives its members news about upcoming events and coasters. Both f these are included in the price to join. If you’re able to I suggest you go to one of their events at a park. The parks are very nice to the ACE members and give you a lot of attention.

During events they have ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) before and after the park is open. During this time only ACE members can ride the coasters (they usually only have a few open). During the rest of the day people split up and go with friends or family. ACE usually has some kind of group lunch that is optional to attend. :)

I had no idea so many people were members. It's something I keep thinking about doing, but always back out. Same excuse as everyone else, never sure if I'm going to be able to take advantage of the discounts.

The magazines sound like they're worth it though...

I'm a member, and it's great.

Also, you get a rental car discount. I let my parents use it whenever we go on vacation. :)

If you don't join ACE, then at least join some other coaster club. You'll get similar benefits, newsletters, etc... ACE is probably regarded as the best though, and one of the more expensive clubs to join---but worth the price!!

My family makes fun of me for being in ACE. They call me a "rollercoaster nerd". Every person in my entire family besides me is absolutely horrified of coasters.

I have only been to one event and that was Coaster Mania 2003. I diddnt have a very good experience on that day. TTD was closed, MF's ERT turned into an hour wait, so on and so on. If anyone was at Coaster Mania last year you might of saw me. I sat down at the entrance of TTD, waiting for it to open for thirteen hours. So if you ever came by the entrance I was one of the people sitting down and looking really pissed off.

Dont listen to me, join ACE.

Lol...you probably won't want to hear this, but do you have any idea how many people I heard make fun of those waiting by the Dragster entrance that day???

My advice to all coaster fans...join some coaster club and take advantage of the benefits---like free lunches at special events, ERT, discounted tickets, etc... Some clubs are cheaper than others and have better newsletters, magazines, etc...just do a little research and find one best suited for you.

Im in ACE..although I put off renewing for about 3 months cause im the laziest person ever. The publications are good, and the events are usually not too bad, although Ive only been to two: Spring Con '03 and Winterfest '02. I have used it for discounts on rental cars and for discount park tickets. but some ACE members are kind of scary. One of the Assistant Regional Reps was talking about his favorite lift hill sounds in our last regional newsletter. Thats just weird. But you dont have to avoid all of them..just a few of them.
