In This Thread, I Tell You About My Current Employment Status (So long Key Bank)

I was laid off last December and have yet to find another job. I am still collecting severance pay.

I have narrowed my job search to the following: (no particular order)

Financial Analyst
Senior Accountant
Financial Planner
Prison Guard (female prison/detention center)
Adult Film Star
Announce "Blue Light" specials at K-Mart
Seeing eye person (you goto school for a year then get assigned to a blind dog)
Skyscraper window washer
Road kill collector
Youth minister
Clown (resurrect "Pogo")

Decisions....decisions. What job would be best for me? Discuss.

I see this as being a rip-off of General Public's thread and a much less productive one at that, so unless this gets more useful I will close it.

Then in all fairness, you should close GP's thread too.

The sad thing is... this is a spoof, but yet it's not. The situation is real. We talked about this back when he was going to be first laid off, and eventually, he better understood my predicament, when I had no job because of the lack of anything tech-related (I'm now doing customer support for XO Communications).

You could try to shoot for the financial analyst/accountant jobs, but you could also try to have fun. I don't think you'll have many problems as a window washer, but I still consider K-Mart unstable work.

Road kill collector only you would come up with that one but I think you should be a clown or a financial planner since you use to work at a bank.

i would sugguest student. You only have to work around 10 hours a week (although for me its more like 25-30) and just generally be lazy.

I've thought about going back to college for an MBA, but...for unexpainable reasons...it just doesn't appeal to me.

I'd love to be a police officer, but I think that would create too much stress on my family. Plus cops are overworked and extremely underpaid---just like teachers.

Maybe I should become a teacher, so I could have my summers off (okay, okay, you can all see where this is going.....)

A parachute tester sounds pretty interesting.

Perhaps I'll be a migrant farm worker.

I don't know. I'm so...
