| | | Hi, I'm a screwed up mom--read what I did... This "mother" (and I use that term loosely) stoned her kids. Oh, but don't worry folks---"God" told her to, so...no biggie. What a sad, sad world. :(

| | | Being insane is a medical condition, but some people are just messed up and have no real condition.

| | | I saw that on TV... seriously, that is SO messed up. God "told" her to stone her children? It's like that one episode of Law & Order where the mom told her oldest son to kill himself and his little brother because they were sinners.
I swear some people take religion WAY too seriously to the point of insanity. I grew up in a STRICT Christian household, but nowadays I go around joking with my dad (who is a pastor) about religion. If people take to seriously all hell breaks loose and this is what happens.
Sick... people that murder their children should be killed in the same way. Hey, the bible says, "Eye for an eye..." *rolls eyes*

| | | This case really kind of hits home (well, at least to my dad). She and her family lived near/in Tyler, TX, which is about 30 minutes from where I live. Her husband worked with my dad on several jobs, so it was a bit of a shock to him.
It's even a bigger deal down here... lots of coverage every night on the local TV news.

| | | Women in Texas are crazy. First we have Andrea Yates, then that woman that runs her husband over 3 times with a Mercedes and says its an accident. And dont forget the woman who stabbed her husband 193 times, and now this. And she'll probably only get 30 years in prison, because it seems the punishments on all of the aformentioned people have been much lighter than they would be on most men. Dont attack me for this, because even the newspaper said this. |

| | | What a crazy woman, there are a lot of insane people in the world, this just happens to be one.
Very sad, yet incredibly interesting.

| | | I don't understand why people like this accuse God of telling them to do something of this caliber. I don't recall anywhere in the bible where God has ever told anyone to murder their own children.
They are just delirious and obviously psychotic. |

| | | ^^^ Uhm, God ordered Abraham to kill his only son, or am I reading that passage wrong? But then again, God did it more to see Abraham's trust I guess.

| | | VERDICT: Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity
This just came less than a minute ago due to a live news update from a local news station.
This doesn't necessarily mean she will be free to go- there are more measures that the court and others must take, but the verdict is final.
Your thoughts...

| | | Yeah kraxle, it has happened before. God stopped Abraham before he actually killed him though, so I would guess he would have told this women that if he really was testing her.

| | | Well I know exactly what will happen to her. As long as she can use her insanity defense, she will stay in a maximum security hospital. If she ever does get better, she wont be released, but will get sent to jail and serve life. Believe me, she wont be getting away with anything. |

| | | I don't think she should be confined to either a hospital or a prison. She can be a real asset to society---perhaps in the medical field. Just think how many experiments could be conducted on her. Load her up with diseases galore and try to find cures---or don't. If she lives, then experiment again. If she dies, then...no big deal.
Oh, just so you all know...God told me to make this post. |

| | | i dont get some people in this world. its not the people that kill their kids because god told them to, its the people that think they have problems that i think are messed up. actually, its the religious people that i think are messed up. if anyone in this thread believes in god, and said that they think this woman is messed up has some serious problems. how can you people pray to god at least once a weak and even up to 6 times a day think its crazy when god repsonds? if someone says that god talked to them, you immediatly think that person is crazy? i, myself, dont believe in god so yes, i do think this woman is crazy simply because i dont believe in god. if i did believe in god, i wouldnt think anything of this woman because if she says god talked to her, then what makes you think that it was the right time for those kids to die? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
