| | |
Ummm....dude no, you didn't understand the sarcasm. That story was basically implying the republicans don't care what they eat. You think even "rich" republicans, as they're so often described by leftists, want to eat grade E meat?
The story didn't imply that at all. The story said that the Average Joe is able to enjoy high quality meat that doesn't have rat tails in it because of the Pure Food and Drug Act along with Meat Inspection Act that progressive administrations passed. If you doubt the legitimacy of these claims, please read Upton Sinclair's The Jungle.

| | | Of course Fast Food places are going to buy the cheapest meat they can find. It's all about profits. Fast food doesn't exist for the sake of existing. If you don't like the meat at Taco Bell, don't eat it.
Antfarm, I've read the Jungle. Point taken. Thank you. I agree that it is good to have food regulations for the safety of American citizens. I don' t understand why we are discussing this, it's not an issue in the election. Your not going to convince people to become liberal based on issues from the past.

| | |
Let me rephrase that, the Meat used at Taco Bell and other YUM corperation restaurants (formally Tri-con [I think]) is the cheapest (worst) meat that the company can get their hands on that has passed inspection. If you read Fast Food Nation you will become a democrat.
I know, as soon as I read Fast Food Nation, there were shining lights and strange noises and then POOF!! I magically took on whole new views and became a Democrat.
If you think that somehow Fast Food Nation has anything in it that would agree with Democratic views more so than Republican, you're retarded.

Wow, dude how old are you? The last sentence in that statement makes you sound absolutely unintelligent.

I agree that it is a non-issue. My comments were only in response to ErioL's 'statements'.

| | | No your saying repbulicans care what they eat, but the people in power have no desire to force the food companies to maintain min standards for the masses. So the rich repub. will buy the expensive quality stuff, while the poorer repub. (95% of people) will be forced to accept and buy sub standard stuff because the goverment might lose some money for their next election campaign. |

| | | Ridiculous post above, please strike that from the record.
I'm sure you have proof that Republicans don't care what citizens eat, whether it's healthy or not. It's stupid for anyone to say that they don't care. You're trying to tell me that they don't care and are willing to let millions of people die from eating food that isn't healthy and that could be contaminated in some manner? Think about that for a second and tell me how stupid that sounds.
Now, since you've thought about that, think about this....what the hell does this have to do with anything regarding November 2nd?

Nobody in America purchases sub-standard food.
We're Americans for Christ's sake. We're too used to healthy, sanitary food that we'd never eat anything less.
I've been in some of the greasiest fast food places in America, and have had whole sandwiches thrown out because a fly landed on the bun.

| | Hippies are funny. They fight for clean water, clean air, and clean food; then go smoke a bowl. Go figure.
Anyways, back to the war on Iraq, we lost another 8 soldiers today. Are terrorists really fighting us over there, or people who just don't like us invading their country?
And guess who just cut another video the other day; ole bin laden.Hey, Mr. Bush, lets take all of those soldiers you sent to Iraq, and have them find the guy who actually did attack us. We have proof of that. I don't know where he is either, but you aren't gonna find him in Baghdad.
Also, Bush always talks of making the country safer, yet seems to be creating as many enemies as he is destroying. Here are just a few ideas to make the country safer with the $120 billion we've spent so far on Iraq, and no one has to die:
-put a cop or a soldier on every street corner in America
-inspect every single damn container or other cargo shipment that enters this country
-step up the intelligence for people arriving on international flights or it might not be just Cat Stevens next time
Bush's extreme optimism seems to blind his sense of reality. His "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier PR stunt proved that. Did he really think taking Iraq would be that easy? But Bush won't eat waffles. The way I see it, we will get to say "Mission Accomplished" when Bush gets sent back to his Texas ranch come January. |

We were on the trail of the person we knew attacked us, then we diverted our soldiers to go after someone who we know DIDN'T attack us. I fail to see the logic in that.

I couldn't resist.

| | | The platform of the Libertarian party is a recipe for disaster. I think much of it sounds great, but I don't think it would ever work.
