Hurricane Charley experience

I just wanted everyone to know that we made it through the storm pretty well. There were high winds and heavy rains but no power outages or flooding at my complex. I live over near Universal/IOA and I'm anxious to see the damage in the morning. But, the main thing is...everyone in my apartment building is fine and no worse for the wear....luckily. :)

I was watching my local news and they had weatherbug on it reported it had 10+ inches of rain in DISNEY before the eye came by.

Im afraid disney may have flood damage.

10 inches BEFORE the eye? WOW. I guess this means I should be looking forward to rain in the next week. We in Ohio generally get the 'leftovers'.

I just heard on the news that the Magic Kingdom is open today!!!

Wow that was fast! They must have worked early in the morning to clean up. Disney does things right, so they've probably cleaned up the whole place already. lol

We got lucky in Charlotte (or at least it appears that way). Charley could have easily taken the path of Hugo and headed towards Charlotte.

As such, we've just gotten a lot of heavey rain the past two days (from Bonnie and Charley) but not a ton of wind. Some streets flooded, but nothing much else here so far.

My brother works at Seaworld and he said they was going to try to open at noon.
He said he had no damage to his house in Davenport.

I think everything except DAK is open today. Should be light crowds...but of course, there may be a lot of people thinking same thing. :D

Once again a hurricane misses Jacksonville.
We are unstoppable!
Hurricanes fear us!!!

I don't know why but this town has had more near misses tan just about any coastal city off thw Atlantic or the Gulf. We'll get our dues one day....and the town will be torn to shreds because of the whole "Boy Who Cried Wolf" scenerio.

my experience should be starting in about an hour. right now, its just getting into southern jersey. they say that when it gets here, there could be 2-5 inches of rain and 35 MPH wind.

All I can say is shewwwwwwwwwww!

It could have been so much worse. If the eye had come our way and stayed a category 4 it would have been bad (for us).

I feel bad for anybody in Florida or anywhere else that had damage.

There's a lot of bad spots around Tampa from what I've seen on TV.

It was supposed to rain here most of the day, but Charley decided to go father east and it hasn't rained here for about 4 hours, except for some drizzle every now and then.

Good bye Charley!!! Don't come back!

I cant imagine the devistation that it would have caused if it went through downtown Tampa as a Cat 4. Just thinking about it gives me chills.

P.S. To those that were hit, everyones hearts and prayers are with you and your families.

I just got power back in the Winter Park area, and the damage here isn't too bad, mostly just trees and power lines down. I was out for a few hours taking pictures because there was no power at home, and now since it's back, I've uploaded a few of the pictures, and will be adding more soon. Here's the link.
