Power Outage @ Great Adventure; Riders Stuck Upside-Down

i just saw on my local fox news that there was a power outage at six flags great adventure today. they were showing video of batman the ride stuck on the lift but they said the "batman and robin the chiller had trains stuck upside down in a loop and a corkscrew" they didnt show any footage of the chiller, just b:tr so i dont really know what they were talking about, but they did say people were stuck upside down. if anyone has more info, please share.

I've never been to SFGAd, so excuse my possible ignorance. I know Batman and Robin:The Chiller are LIM launched, but once the launch takes place, isn't the rest of the ride gravity driven like any other coaster? How would a power outage cause it to stall upside down? If that's even what happened, and not the media just trying to exaggerate it to make it a more interesting story.

Oh, why is this in General Talk? C'mon SFGadvKing, you're not a newbie. You should know better than that ;)

Also, its on the front page. I know a lot of people come right to the boards, but before posting a story like this make sure to check the news on the front page.

What happened was the train didnt have enough speed so it didnt make it to the top LIMs. So the train got stuck in the zero-g roll. The blue side blew 12 moters earlier back. Since this just happened Chiller will not be opperating the rest of the season. They have to take the train apart and re-attach it because they have no way of getting it up that hill.

Also, its unfortunate that some of you never really look around the site because its more than just the forums.

I found out later then the guests. I walked past security then i heard people yelling. I looked up and i saw what I never expected. Robin side of Chiller was stuck upside down. If anyone goes to the park this year, dont expect it to be open. Its susposed to be closed for the rest of the season.

medieval, I hope you know you can get fired for telling people the details of ride closures.. I wouldn't do it for you unless you want to get fired or something ;)

Its kinda easy to tell why it will be closed. They didnt re-open it the last time it did that.

You can always base projected downtime off past downtime! All breakdowns are the same!

Are you just guessing or did you actually hear that from a manager?
