Wow.....thats a strange one. What surrprises me is that no one ever complained of a foul odour that would be expected to eminate from a decomposing body.

For those who don't want to click the link...

Some guy died about 2 years ago and his mummified body was recently discovered. Automatic pension deposits covered the automatic condo fee (and other bills) withdrawls, which was (in part) why no one suspected anything sooner.

I'm not shocked by this story---stranger things have happened.

You'd think family, friends, or someone would have tried to investigate his absence.

^ He might of been a hermit of sorts. Cause I'd think if he had friends and family that stayed in touch with him he would of been found right away. But didn't anybody notice his mail was overflowing?

If either of you had read the article, you wouldn't have questions without answers.

I don't see how some one could be dead in a house for two years with out being found.

Weird stuff in this world. But this kind of stuff has happened before and it will happen again. Some people just stick to themself so much that nobody would ever notice them missing.

Must of had no family or friends. There was this house for sale about a year ago here and it was on sale for a good 2 years. Finally when a real estate agent was showing the house there was a dead body in one of the bedroom closets. They found out that he was a realtor and the comapny had reported him missing about a year ago. I never heard anything about a cause of death but last i heard they were saying foul play.

It also depends on how the mail is delivered, whether centralized mailboxes in the lobby or mail slot type. Cause no matter what, you are bound to receive either bank statements, phone statements, or tax information. It's also odd that no maintence staff ever entered the suite to change such things as the HVAC filter or check of the smoke detectors; they do that at least yearly in my condo.
