| | | Ideas for my haunted house...... As most of you already know, I run a haunted house through my basement on halloween every year. For the last three years, it's just been a wide open space with not much detail, but this year i'm trying to change that.
I built hallways all through the basement using 2 by 4's and thin, flexible sheets of wood. I tried to make it as similar to professional haunted houses as I could. I left 4 open areas throughout the course of the haunted house with walk-ways around them for scenes, but i've only got ideas for two of them. The other two are empty as of now and I cant think of a theme for them.
I've already got a slaughter type scene (think Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and a very detailed graveyard.
Any ideas? (I'll upload some pics in the next few days)

| | | I have quite a few ideas. I have friends doing haunted houses/trails this year and they used some of my ideas.
The trail is themed to Sleepy Hollow funny that Scarowinds named their trail that this year also.
One house is themed to a Circus gone bad. so i would say go with something that has to do with clowns. Almosr everyone is afraid of clowns and it's always a good scare. I guess we can blame seeing the movie "IT" at such a young age for clownphobia.
BTW: Do you post over at Hauntworld?

| | | Another good one we always did is a dentist office. That's always a fairly scary thing for people. A demented dentist with a cordless drill and a screaming bloody patient.
I don't know, it always worked for us.
Oh and lots of strobe lights. That's always good.

Didn't you say you sell haunted house supplies to various companies? If that's true, then why would you have "a wide open space with not much detail" for the past 3 years? Why not buy/use some of stuff you're selling? When you're done, then resell the items at a "used" discount. |

Sorry couldn't resist.
I've always liked dark mazes.

| | | Robert, I don't stock the items I sell. You'd be surprised how many companies do that. When I recieve an order, I immediately buy the same product from the manufacturer. The item ships to me, I put the customers receipt inside and I ship it out. |

You don't have to stock every item you sell. In your situation, buy what you think would fit into your haunted house plans and resell it (at a discount) when you're done. |

Don't you remember what I told you? Don't ever buy from them, they'll rip you off, trust me on this.
bgwfreak, that stepping on snakes idea is actually pretty good, but instead of sankes i'd put bugs. You know, have a whole bunch of roaches and stuff all over the walls, and things crunching beneath your feet.
