What do you think?
I find it odd and think he was breaking the rules, in some way.

| | | No I don't think he was using a cheat sheet. If you cheat, you are typically caught. I do not think if he used one he could get away with it. They just made this as the typical "x factor" in a arguement. "Hey he made wierd gestures....he MUST be cheating!"

| | | They would have caught him, it's not an English class debate. They probably have security games riddled throughout the room, and it's highly unlikely that he cheated. |

| | | I in no way like or support John Kerry, but I really don't care whether he did or not have a note or something else. It doesn't matter to me, I care more about how they feel about certain issues than whether or not someone had a "cheat sheet". If they had one, it doesn't alter how they're going to do their jobs. I understand it's against the rules, but I don't think it's a big deal if it in fact happened. Although I didn't like the fact that Kerry staffers accused Republicans of it like as if it was some plot by them. Always look for Democrats to try and place blame elsewhere.

| | | That's all fine and dandy, maybe John Kerry took something from his coat! I think it should be lightly investigated, but John Kerry's success was largely based on Bush's poor showing. The cheat sheat did not effect Bush's performance, therefore, there is no excuse.

| | | If those two photos are supposed to prove something other than that they are really out of focus, I don't know what it is!!!
I'm not a Kerry fan, but come on. That is pathetic to look at those pictures and say he cheated.
Might as well say that those pictures prove that Aliens sucked his brain out for an hour.
Kerry made notes as the debate went along, maybe he was pulling out that piece of paper he was making notes on. Ever think of that ;) lol

Actually, had you read what the link said, the debate rules said that any paper or pens the candidates wished to have at the podium had to place out there ahead of time. I watched the video and it does seem that he's doing something. I figure he's just adjusting his shirt or something under his coat.
Whatever. Let's not worry about the little things. This is pretty minor.

| | | Yeah I read that part, but I don't see how this is a big deal anyway. The video could have been edited to change how it looks too.

Lets not call it a "poor performance", he simply didn't do great is all. To call it a poor performance is to say that he must've made major mistakes and such. Kerry may have done a better job speaking and there are some things that Bush could've done better, but it wasn't poor. Even Democrat/Kerry supporters (at least those not trying to put spin on it) said that they felt Kerry did better than Bush but must do more and that Bush made no major mistakes.

| | | What are you guys talking about? Did you really watch the video? You can clearly see him taking something out and fiddling with it at the podium. You guys need to watch the video again. I'm not saying this because I'm anti Kerry, but just watch it. It's so obvious he had something.
