| | | Contacting B&M - is it worth it? As many of you know I run a B&M site, and was wondering if anybody has had any contact with B&M.
I was thinking of contacting them for any information they could share, even if it is just a picture or two. But one thing sticks in my mind - that whole thing with bolliger-mabillard.com which they got took down, I dont want them to turn around and say that even though my domain name is nothing to do with them, they don't like the site.
I would like to hear from anybody who has had any contact with the company, and has got a reply, just to get a feeling of what they think of 'fans'
Thanks

| | | I'm not sure what to say. You would think they would be happy to help with a fan site, but who knows after the whole bolliger-mabillard.com thing. I doubt they would have anything to hold on you anyways, since you are not using any of their likeness or copyright (since bolliger-mabillard.com could technically be called copyright/trademark infringement)...so who knows. It might be worth a shot. Every other company always likes free press.

| | | Hey Meames,
I have had contact with Bolliger and Mabillard through mail. During a school project, we were instructed to write a letter to someone we admire, respect, and people we just want to write letters to. I chose Bolliger and Mabillard to write to. I basically wrote a letter of appreciation, saying how I appreaciate how much work and effort they put into each and every single ride they make. I also asked them for their signature brochures.
About a month later a huge envelope arrived in my mailbox, and I was surprised to see Bolliger and Mabillard wrote back, along with my brochures I asked for. The letter they sent me is proabobly my most treasured piece of autographed stuff in my room, easily overtaking my Dusty Baker signed baseball.
I still cherish and enjoy that letter today, I read it to remind myself of what kind of role models I look up to. Its a nice thing to have...and I STILL need to get it framed. For the records, only Mr. Bolliger wrote the letter, I guess Mr. Mabillard was busy, but I enjoy the one signature as well.
If you want help and contact with B&M, I can help you. I still have their adress. But I will NOT post it on the forums, you must PM me or E-Mail me privately.

| | | It's not that hard to get their address; it's on rcdb. I've mailed them about an internship and other questions about employment in the industry. I have signed product brochures for all of their rides, too.

Except Major League Baseball. I remember this because it was an oddity in the sports world. Usually, as long as fan sites are not in bad taste, most pro teams do not mind use of their logos and stuff in the use of fansites. But Major League Baseball shut down a fan site. I dont remember much else, but it was a big hoopla. But otherwise, I agree. I dont think it would be much of a problem, but there really is no way to know for sure. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
