thats the problem alot of people say there good but if i asked them what the advantages of a backhand loop (one of the types of ways to put forspin on the ball) they would look at me like im crazy. Im talking about people who are serious players.

I play with a Friendship 729 Bomb and I'm a mid-distance player and like to FH loop. I like all the Chinese blades and rubbers cause theu're so cheap :D

Yeah, I FH Loop too, I'll throw some BHL in there for good measure though. I like to keep the ball on the edges of the table...gets people nervous!

I'm okay at ping-pong, but not great. I have seen people use a one handed backhand, and a two handed one. Which is better and which do you prefer?

I play alot of Ping Pong. I started playing about ten years ago and got somewhat serious a few years ago. I play with my dad alot and we are very evenly matched. We once had an ongoing game tally and after 100 games we both had 50 wins.

My dad and I were getting more serious about it last fall but we have very busy lives so we did not get to into it outside of the house. We went to a club meeting and played with some pro material players which was an awesome experience. I actually got a volley going with this guy where you litterally could not see the ball. They said we had it over 100 mile per hour which is hard to believ, even though the pros are at 150 and up.

My dad plays with a hell of alot of spin while I mostly counteract it and play the table. I make him dance but I have to work to do it. I like having volleys that are very low and close to the net.

Last year I had an idea that I searched online to see if it already existed. It did. We ended up buying a Robo Pong, which is an aoutomatic ping pong ball shooter. http://www.robo-pongtv.com/index.html. It was alot of fun and really helped my game. The spin this thing can put on the ball is more than I could imagine.

Anyway, I'll stop my rambling.

Im a mid distence player as well. I play with my dad alot also and he used to whoop me everytime. Then i started taking books out of the library on table tennis. And before i knew it I could spin like a beast. Return people spikes and slam shots that are below the net, which is pretty hard to do. Now me and my dad are 60/ 40 the sixty being me of course.

Josh- It is kinda of scary at first. The thing throws balls at you like you couldn't believe. It oscilates also giving a more realistic feel if you want to have it do that.

If you are serious about ping pong but never have anyone to play with or need some practice, I suggest looking into to it. You can find them cheap on ebay.

Josh, I first thought you said, Rob Pongi. Wow...that scared me. (robpongi.com)

But anyway, i play a lot at the table at my Youth Group. We usually have at least one tournament every time we meet. I fair pretty well. My best friend had one before Tropical Storm Alison came. We'd play on it a lot, betting who'd win. The rain put too much weight on the extension that they built along with their house. The weight caused it to collapse, smashing the table along with it. :(

I'm all right at it. I play friendly once a week and can defeat most ordinary people but I'm no way near a stand out player. << That's what Squash is for ;)

My sister is the ping-pong champion of her school. I can sometimes beat her.
