| A member of the coaster community dies.
A lot of you know Steve Urbanowicz. He has written several books about parks, and has been on many Discovery channel and Travel channel shows. He was from New Jersey. I haven't met Steve in person, but was a very nice man. He was only in his later 40's. No one really knows what happened, but it is a shock none the less. Rest in Peace Steve, ride KK forever in the front seat. Katie

Wow, that is a shock. I'm not seeing anything in any of the news headlines about it, but it may not have come up yet. For those that may not know him, he was the historian for Coney Island (not sure how official it was, but he was the one they always called). Has a couple of very nice coaster books and was a great reference for coaster history. If you recently saw the show about Kinda Ka's construction, he was interviewed near the begining of it. It is a shock. If you get any more information, please let us know.

RIP Steve! I'll miss you and I am glad I was the person to ride your last ride on your favorite coaster (At Gadv) Chiller Batman with you, I will always hold on to that memory of you.

I just heard about Steve's passing on. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. The coaster community has lost one of its proudest members.

Definitely a loss. He was an extremely knowledgeable and personable man.

Not to sound trivial but does anyone have any pictures? I have met a couple of Steve's at amusement parks and 1 of them said that he writes articles. I was wondering if this was him, even if it isn't I do give my thoughts out to his family as he was way too young to leave. It is difficult to handle the loss of a loved one but especially when it was unexpected...

Thanks for the picture, he looks familiar but not the Steve I was thinking of. I wonder if he was at Coaster Con this year as I ran into several people there...
