I fill up with 93 octane and last time I went it was $2.14. That's better than it was a couple months ago, but its still high. Getting 8-10 mpg sucks too.

Its around 2, to low 90's now. I have to go fill up my tank soon. Argh.
Well I don't drive, but my sister and my mom does. We got a new HEB (grocery store) that moved in like 2 months ago. They are the ones who control the gas prices now in the city. What ever HEB has, all the other gas stations will have. So in Floresville, TX (as of today) you can find 4 gas stations with gas for 1.50.

It tends to vary depending on exactly where you are. For example, in my area, the highest priced gas I saw was $1.89 and the lowest $1.69 for the 87 Octane, but just last week on a job interview trip to Alabama, I saw the same gas for $1.99 a gallon, and the attendant claimed that it had just dropped the previous day or so by almost 20 cents a gallon. I cant confirm that, but I can the $1.99 a gallon...so it just depends on what area you are in and so forth.

Either way, SC is my stopping ground since I know they have some of the lowest gas prices anywhere.

I don't want to sound evil, but my household is always happy when the gas prices go up. It just means that my dad is bringing in more revenue for his fuel card company. Unfortunately for you guys, my dad is saying that prices are about to rise quite a bit again.

There is no reason for gas to be so high in Feb-March, this is the "dead" time, there is actually usually more available than the demand, so you would think they would drop the price.

1.879 and climbing west of Atlanta, with 1.999 at a few places downtown. Ugh, it's gonna be a long season for someone like me who is planning four big road trips. It's gone up a good 15-20 cents in the past two weeks.

Metro Detroit is at about 2.10 a gallon lately, and often higher than that. I watched on the news that gas prices may even stand to rise by another 25 cents, and that is just rediculous. If prices could just stick to the 1.40 - 1.50 range, I'd never have reason to complain. I can still remember when gas being $0.95 a gallon was considered high, and still I would be satisfied with paying $1.50.

I can still remember a long time ago, probably like 91 or 92, when I was still fairly young, hearing my father complain because gas had gone about 75 cents per gallon.

I'm glad that Georgia still has some "cheap" gas, so when we are getting near $2, I know its bad. It was $2.50 a gal in California last time I was there, I can only imagine what its like now.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but it could be worse.

Prices in Canadien Currency, per litre (~ 3.75 litres in a gallon):
US Average: $0.733
Canada Average: $0.985
Germany Average: $1.952
United Kingdom Average: $1.927
Italy Average: $1.825
Belgium Average: $1.767
France Average: $1.760
Japan Average: $1.338

Though it could be better too:
Kuwait City Average: $0.25
Cairo Average: $0.20
Caracas Average: $0.051

Note that those figures are from a few months ago, but the aspect probably didn't change too much.

here in columbus, ohio its 2.05 now.but it got like 1.50 and higher since april of 04.in 97 to 98 it was .99.a 1 to 2 dollar jump isnt that bad but it also depends on the car.i have a 05 chevy cavilear get 24 city and 34 highway.the faster you go the more gas you burn.i see some here going 70 to 85 mph alot and they complane that they cant keep gas in there cars.lol.but it is high though.when the 9/11 thing happend sunoco thought theyed be slick and rise the gas to 3.99 or higher.got slaped with a 10,000 fine per station that did that from opec.but the gas prices do have alot to do with the number of out of town theme park goers who drive 150 or more miles to go to cp or sfga or something.but if i go to a park by my self its a park 100 miles or less from here.but we if i go with others pay part of gas so it wont be so much on one person.

The cheapest i ever remeber gas being was $1.15 and that was around may of 2000 cause thats when i bought my first new car and i remeber gas prices that year.

I doubt it will ever gat that low again. My guess it the prices will keep going back & forth from $1.80 to $2.10 but hopefully no higher.

I did fill up my car saturday just so i avoid the $2 a gallon for a week. The average in Charlotte is $1.80- $1.86 but i found a station near Carowinds on westinghouse for $1.72.

grr... gas is so cheap in the US it's unbelievable. I filled my tank this morning. £34. that's 40 litres for probably around $60. You guys just don't realise when you're getting a bargain. We had a fuel shortage in the UK five years ago, when truck drivers decided to blockade all the major supply yards to protest against high prices - prices then wre reportedly over £1.00 a LITRE (yes, thats One Pound (appx two dollars") for One litre of fuel)

Admittedly, i get 40+ miles to the gallon, and sub 10.0s performance to 60mph, but i still pay too much for my fuel.
And... while we're on the subject, i also pay £155 a year just in tax to be allowed on the roads.

*I Know the exchange rate isn't quite that bad, but i can't be bothered to break out a claculator for a rant...

It took $60 to fill up my dad's truck yesterday at $1.72. Just think of what thats going to be at $2.00-$2.10.

I'm sure it's much cheaper here but to be honest prices have not gotten horrible imo. 1.70-1.85 is a good price to pay i guess considering it could be much higher.

While i'm out driving today i'll look around at some stations to see if the news was right about prices going up 24 cents today.
