| | | yeah it was much cheaper 15 years ago (probably by at least 30-40%), but people still moan about prices even then. i didn't drive 10 years ago, but i remember seeing it around eq of $3/gallon (or maybe a bit less). 15 years ago. there is inflation though......
Our petrol used to be nearly 5 times as much as you.......now its only just over 3, so yeah proces for you have increased more in a way. Its becasue our goverment is under huge pressure to keep prices down.........for every lite ($1.65) we pay about $1.20 in tax. The other .40 goes for the fuel. |

2.80 for Regular out in Northern California.
Argh! Good thing I have a job. Otherwise the 4Runner would see less action.

| | | We're paying 1.99-2.07 here in South Jersey for regular. The 2.09 I saw last week in Jersey was the lowest price I paid for Unleaded when I was in California in late February. The California price came here. In late February, I paid around 1.70-1.80 for regular.

| | | Woah, thanks for bringing it back up Kyle. I was going to post in it last week but I forgot. Glad you did it tho. Gas aint 1.50 here anymore. lol. The lowest I have seen is 2.13 for unleaded. That is crazy. I think they might stay pretty high for a while now.

| | | I paid $2.17 this past weekend.
A small little anecdote of classic american ignorance. I was on a school trip to Germany in the summer of 2003 and we saw gas was around 1.80euro is what i seem to remember (but i'm not 100% sure), and considering the exchange rate we thought "hey that's not that much more than what we pay." then about 15 minutes later someone realized that it is by liter and not gallon, i felt really stupid after that.

| | | We were up to $2.45 last Monday... I managed to keep it around $2.27/gallon. Tonight though I gassed up at $2.18 ($2.21 - 0.03 with my Speedway gas card for unleaded). |

It seems like everywhere gas has been up.

| | | Kyle L, get a car that doesn't go through gasoline so quick and the prices will be less of a pinch. The way I am, I spend about $20 on gas a week regardless of my driving habits. I do a search online though, to see where the cheap gas is.

| | | 20 bucks a week! Now that I'm working again I spend like 20 every two weeks. I'm super glad I live in a small town where everything I would want to go to is a 5 min or less drive away.

In my experience, and as limited as it is, only a few select large areas are applicable...most areas are not even covered. That said, the information can also change so rapidly. Working for a gas station/convenience store, lately in a span of 2 days gas prices went from $2.149 a gallon that morning, to $2.179 before 6pm, and by 3pm (when I went in the following day) it was back down to $2.15p a gallon. And that is not even a 24 hour store...so in 16 hours, we had 3 different gas prices.
On Sunday (4/10/05) I went to Kings Dominion and had to fill up to get there...the price was $2.159 a gallon at the start of the day. Coming back that night, I filled back up, and prices had fallen to $2.099 a gallon. And that was only about a 10 hour difference. So it can change in the blink of an eye. Just wish it would go down, or we could all live in South Carolina (or anywhere else) where gas is markedly lower than everywhere else. |

It seems like everywhere gas has been up. | Yeah, I'm so glad I bought a Beetle and not a gas guzzler.
I don't know how people afford to fill up thoese behemoths (aka SUV's).
I drove from Charlotte to Pigeon Forge and back on like 1 tank (8 or 9 hours of driving roundtrip including driving around Pigeon Forge).

| | | I just got gas last night and paid 2.08/gallon and that is cheap for around here. It keeps going up and down but hasn't been below 2 dollars for almost 2 or 3 months.

It doesn't go through that much gas, its just that I am young, and I haven't had the burdon of buying gas till now. All of you people that are much older than me, proabobly have paid for gas for a long time now. I just got my car in August, and been paying for gas ever since. And seeing how its up to nearly 3.00 here on the west coast, is a little insane.

| | | By me, its about $2.14. Luckily, I am in a college town, so I don't really need to drive very far often. Its normally only to get food, or something. And I know other people with cars, so carpool. I end up filling up my tank about once a month, so its not bad. But I drive a mustang, and I get about 17-regular roads/27 highway. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
