Gas Price Thread

(I did a search and nothing came up.) It seems like gas prices are going down. There are 4 gas stations in my town that have gas at 1.50 a gallon for unleaded. What's the most you have seen recently and whats the least?

Recently, around 1.86 average. Over the years, I have seen it as low as 95 cents. But the prices are much better then 2 something a little while back.

You did a search where? On here to see if the thread existed or on the internet to find trends in gas prices? I'm sure the site exists if it's the latter you're looking for.

The cheapest near me is a Wawa at $1.759 The most expensive is probably about $1.929.

This summer the Wawa that's $1.759 now was $1.999 at its apex. Damn PT Cruiser has been averaging 21.6 mpg. My wife's Cavalier averages 26.1 mpg. It costs me $15 in gas to get to HP in the Cruiser, but damn I look cool getting there.

While I was on my honeymoon in June, the price at that station dropped $.10/gallon. We thought the prices were just cheaper in FL, didn't think that they were dropping across the nation.

I started driving when the average price was about $.969/gallon around here (Early 1999). Seems like forever.

Luckilly for the greater good of TN, I keep records of all of my expenses in Quicken. Dig this:

Fuel expense 1-1-02 to 12-17-02 = $1,463.72
Fuel expense 1-1-03 to 12-17-03 = $1,783.55
Fuel expense 1-1-04 to 12-17-04 = $2,539.03

Dang Diesel, it seems like you like to save a lot of money or keep records of them. I searched TN and found nothing. All the threads where lock. If the mods don't like this thread, then let em do their thing.

About 6 years ago, we've had prices as low as 69 cents/gallon. But lately it's been about $1.70-$1.90 range.

Looks like since I've started driving (May 1999) and my wife started (April 2002), we've spent $9,287.74 in fuel.

Not sure why this thread would be locked.

And yes, I do like to save money and I do keep records of everything. Check my occupation in my profile.

You guys have seen some cheap prices of gas in years past. I can't remember ever seeing prices for gas under a dollar. The cheapest I can remember is about $1.15-1.20. A couple years ago, it went don't to $1.25-1.30 or so. A little while ago, prices were up to $2.20-$2.40. Now prices have down a little bit and is usually under $2.00 I think. All the prices I mentioned are from the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs.

In Canada it goes by the litre but a month or so ago it went up. When I came to Canada in 1994 it was like 40 cents a litre. Now its like 80 cents a litre. It's starting to get harsh in those gas stations.

^Unless the canadian currency is any different than US (I'm not sure), 80 cents/liter would translate in to just over $3/gallon.

Yes, I think it's 70 cents American to get $1 in Canadian money.

1.69 Unleaded I've seen in Jersey now. Five years ago I remember paying $.75 a gallon. I think I even did as low as $.69.

It alot higher than that on most occasions. Whenever I purchase gas it is around 87-91 cents a liter. Absolutly rediculous.

Oh, and where are you from?
