Tragic news....

Hi guys, bad news. There is a man called Mr. Bowman, all I know about him is that he teaches Tae Kwon Doe and yesterday was his birthday. On his birthday yesterday, he went upstairs to take a shower and his wife was putting some cookies away on a shelf or in a cuboard when she slipped on something, fell, hit her head and supposedly died instantly. I dont really know Mr. Bowman, or his wife, he lives in my town, Fort McMurray, and I dont know what else to say. She slipped, and that was it.

I don't want to sound like a prick or anything, but a lot of people die everyday, and I'm sorry to say I'm quite certain nobody here knows who this Bowman guys is.

I'm a little confused too. I don't see the significance of her death over the hundreds of thousands of deaths that have taken place the last week or so. Just last week, two young kids were killed in seperate high profile accidents in Chicago for example.

Uggghhhhh..... His wife just slipped! Yes, there are many senseless deaths, but this guys wife slipped, now her two kids dont have a mother, and a child will not be born from her.

That was really weird. I read about that. The worst is the dad drove by one wreck to get to his other dead son!

So Jordan, how is that any different from other mother-less children in the world?

What I see from this topic is...

The tiniest thing can instantly end a life. People like to think that they're safe in their own home. It is kinda creepy to think about since I live alone, and if anything were to happen to me it would probably be days before anyone would find me.

However I don't think there's any sense in worring about it. As tragic as it may be it does happen.

a couple weeks ago, a guy ate a peanut butter sandwhich and nine hours later kissed his 15 year old girlfriend. the girl was alergic to peanut butter and died. i think thats a little more tragic than someone slipping.

No I just that is absolutely weird. I mean you might as well just say her boyfriend was carrying the kiss of death, as stupid as that sounds.

But anyway I think the whole reason this guy posted this was because it was in his own town. Forgive him for not understanding the fact that none of us know who this is and we all know this guy has no relation or even a friendship with Jordan.

Funny ironic, yes. And peanut allergies are very tricky, as that girl's death is seen.

Hey guys some guy I never met who bears absolutely no significance to me whatsoever died in an accident on the highway the other day in Utah. That is sad and we should all take a moment to mourn him.

. . .

Oh, random guy in Utah, we hardly knew ye! It was just too soon, dammit!

Such wonderful sentiment at Christmas. Yes, people die all the time. If you have never been touched by death, I'm happy for you. On the other hand, taking a moment to offer a quick prayer or thought never hurts. I work for a large organization and get death announcements for people I both know and don't know - and for their relatives. I always say a prayer for them. Try it sometime.

Always remember, carpe diem. "seize the day."

It can all end in the blink of an eye.

Yes, but the point is, thousands of people die each day. Just because you heard that "some guy" died, doesn't mean it's necessaray to morn over him... otherwise you might as well morn those thousands of people that died per day.

i actually just found out today that one of my school janitors was hit by a car last weekend while shoveling snow outside the school and died. the sad thing is, he has absolutely no one who cares about him and the rest of his family lives in peru and is too poor to come here. his name is alberto. (true story)

I've had plenty of experiences with death. I have barely an extended family. No cousins actually related me and no grandparents. The only thing I have is two aunts and an uncle. Used to be a ton more, but people get old, it happens.

Its just a random person that happened to be from his hometown. I didn't make a big fuss when a Kent State student was gunned down in her home this past January.

Or perhaps I should mention the 16 yr old that got killed by a train yesterday in a town near me.

I can understand if it is a relative, family whatever, but when it is a random stranger, I just pass on it like any other random stranger.
